The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) La Union Provincial Office participated in the Online Orientation on DILG Circular No. 2026-017, or the Delegation of Authority in the Issuance of Foreign Travel Authority (FTA) to Local Officials and Employees, conducted by the Bureau of Local Government Supervision (BLGS) via Zoom Teleconference.
The orientation brought together participants from the DILG Regional and Provincial Offices to discuss the provisions and implementation of the Circular, particularly the changes introduced in the processing and issuance of Foreign Travel Authorities (FTAs) for local officials and employees.
Representing DILG La Union were Provincial Director Virgilio P. Sison, CESO V, together with LGOO V Maica T. Lacasandile and LGOO IIs Jame Tadifa, Archie F. Amon, and Carlo P. Apostol.
The discussion highlighted the updated procedures and delegated authorities under the new Circular, including provisions concerning the issuance of FTAs during emergency situations. The orientation provided DILG personnel with a clearer understanding of the revised processes to ensure the proper, timely, and consistent implementation of the guidelines.
Through continuous capacity-building and knowledge-sharing, DILG La Union remains committed to strengthening its technical capabilities and ensuring responsive assistance to local government units in the implementation of policies and regulations governing local officials and employees.
