Wave your flags high as we honor the courage of our ancestors who fought bravely for the freedom we enjoy today. This Independence Day is a beautiful reminder that our liberty is a gift meant to be protected and passed down to the next generation.

For us at the Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee 1, this freedom includes ensuring that every child is given a fair chance to reform and succeed. Together, let us cultivate a nation where no youth is left behind in our journey toward genuine progress.

Distance can never diminish the love and sacrifices of our modern-day heroes who work tirelessly overseas to provide a better life for their families. The Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council joins the nation in honoring our brave migrant workers, whose dedication keeps countless Filipino homes alive with hope. As you look after your families from afar, please know that we are also here on the ground, working hard to protect and defend the rights of the children you hold dear. Thank you for your resilience and your unwavering commitment to your loved ones.

This June, the Philippines marks Judiciary Month, celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Supreme Court.

Declared under Presidential Proclamation No. 1265, s. 2026, the observance calls on government agencies, local government units, the private sector, and civil society to support and partake in the commemoration.

Established on June 11, 1901 through Act No. 136 of the Philippine Commission, the Supreme Court has stood as a pillar of justice—first led by Chief Justice Cayetano Arellano.

In line with this milestone year, the Court unveils a series of activities under the theme: “SC: 125 Years of Tradition and Innovation.”

What does a healthy future look like for our youth? It starts with the air they breathe and the healthy habits they build today. National No-Smoking Month reminds us that protecting children from substance use is a shared responsibility that shapes their tomorrow.

At the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council, we believe that every child deserves a supportive environment free from harmful vices. By steering them away from smoking, we are not just protecting their health but also guiding them toward a safer and more meaningful path in life.
