Various Zumba groups from barangays participated in the free activity, which was facilitated by two experts, Zin Trixie and Zin Jane, who are also Zumbalengkeโ€™s resident instructors. Apart from promoting health and wellness among Fernandinos, the organizers gave away special prizes and incentives to the groups.

Among those who showed support for the Zumbalengke Marathon were City Councilor Ate Kay Pineda, Chairperson of Pyestang Fernandino 2026, and Councilor Elmer Bengco. Both officials delivered Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluagโ€™s and Vice Mayor Aurelio Brenz Gonzalesโ€™ messages to the participants, focusing on their vows to continuously roll out health services and give due recognition to active lifestyle advocates.

The Zumbalengke group has been hosting Zumba activities around the city, with some held for a causeโ€”dedicated to helping sick and underprivileged Fernandinos. | ๐˜พ๐™„๐™Š-๐™๐™ˆ๐™ˆ, ๐™Ž๐˜ฟ๐™‡

Held on May 30 at the City Market Plaza during the occasion of the Feast of St. Ferdinand III, the coronation night was graced by Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag, together with City Councilors Reggie โ€œG4โ€ David, Jay Cuyugan, Mark Joseph Carreon, Elmer Bengco, and Pyestang Fernandino 2026 Chairperson Raquel and City Councilor Ate Kay Pineda joined by Reyna ning Palengki Chairperson Susan De Leon and Acting City Market Specialist IV Gerald Pangan.

Ten candidates representing different sections of the cityโ€™s public markets competed in the historic pageant, showcasing not only their beauty but also their confidence, talent, and pride as market vendors. Emerging as the first-ever Reyna ning Palengki is Noemi Evangelista from the Dry Goods Section. She was joined by runners-up Marites Pineda (Groceries Section), Judy David (Hotdogs Section), and Gladys Mallari (Eateries Section).

The coronation night also served as the main stage for the competitionโ€™s key segments, where candidates confidently showcased their poise and personality. Participants took part in the sportswear, talent, and long gown competitions, highlighting both their energy and elegance, followed by the question-and-answer portion which tested their wit, insight, and ability to represent the voice of the cityโ€™s market vendors.

In her message, Caluag underscored the city governmentโ€™s continued commitment to improving public market facilities, making them more accessible, organized, and beneficial for both vendors and consumers. She emphasized that initiatives like Reyna ning Palengki reflect the administrationโ€™s recognition of the vital role vendors play in the local economy.

Despite heavy rains felt during the event, the celebration remained vibrant and well-attended. Even as organizers had to adjust the venue in the middle of the program, supporters, participants, and members of the community stayed and showed unwavering enthusiasm, proving the strong spirit and unity of Fernandinos.

The hearing was held last week at the Legislative Building, and was led by City Councilor Tino Dizon, author of the proposed measure. This gathered various stakeholders who actively shared their comments, opinions, and concerns regarding the ordinance.

Present during the activity were personnel from various offices of the City Government with direct involvement in the roll out of the ordinance, once approved. Representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pampanga Provincial Office and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region III also attended and provided clarifications in response to queries raised by stakeholders.

Dizon also highlighted the public hearing as an important venue for refining the proposed measure, as inputs gathered during the hearing will be considered for possible revisions and improvements prior to its final deliberation. The said departments emphasized that the ordinance, once enacted, will be part of the cityโ€™s continuing efforts to strengthen public health standards, ensure compliance among establishments, and promote a more inclusive and customer-friendly environment across the city.

The proposed ordinance aims to promote public health, sanitation, and accessibility standards across establishments in the city, ensuring safer and more convenient facilities for all anchored on the Health Service initiatives of Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag and Vice Mayor Aurelio Brenz Gonzales. | ๐˜พ๐™„๐™Š-๐™‚๐™๐˜ฟ, ๐™‹๐˜พ๐™ˆ

No less than Bokod, Benguet Mayor Erik Donn Ignacio and Vice Mayor Doroteo Beray handed a Sangguniang Bayan Resolution to Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag. The resolution expresses profound appreciation and sincere gratitude to the City Government for accommodating the Cordillera town to conduct a KADIWA Pop-up Store in San Fernando.

According to the officials, Caluag and the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (CAVO) helped Bokodโ€™s farmers sell their hard-earned harvests to Fernandino consumers through the KADIWA program. The Bokod farmers spent several days in the city setting up their KADIWA pop-up stores.

For her part, Caluag vowed that amidst challenges brought about by modernization, inter-agency collaboration is needed to preserve the agricultural sector. She also expressed pride in the Fernandino Kayabe farmers, whose support for her administrationโ€™s agricultural program is relentless.

Joining Bokodโ€™s Ignacio and Beray were their fellow officials and department heads. Caluag was joined by City Administrator and Acting City Legal Officer Atty. Nico Abad, City Tourism Officer Ching Pangilinan, and Agriculturist Gian Mar Jacinto of CAVO. | ๐˜พ๐™„๐™Š-๐™๐™ˆ๐™ˆ, ๐™Ž๐˜ฟ๐™‡
