LOOK: Personnel of the Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLZN) successfully completed the VIP Protection and Security Course Class 09-2026 “ALAB TESTUDO,” strengthening their knowledge, skills, and operational readiness in providing effective protection and security to Very Important Persons (VIPs).

The training enhanced the personnel’s capabilities in security planning, protective operations, threat assessment, coordination, and the proper ex*****on of security protocols—essential competencies in ensuring the safety and security of individuals under their protection.

This accomplishment reflects the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment to developing highly trained, disciplined, and mission-ready personnel capable of responding to evolving security challenges and performing their duties with professionalism and vigilance.

LOOK | CGS La Union Conducts WASAR and BLS Training for BJMP Personnel

The Philippine Coast Guard, through Coast Guard Station La Union, in collaboration with CGMED-NWLZN, NSSU-NWLZN, DSSO-NWLZN, CG COP Bauang, and SOG-NWLZN, commenced the 5-Day Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for 29 BJMP personnel on 02 September 2026 at Bauang District Jail, Bauang, La Union.

The training aims to strengthen the participants’ capabilities in water search and rescue operations and emergency medical response, while further promoting inter-agency cooperation and preparedness.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | In accordance with the MANA Mo 2026 Guidelines, the Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLZN), together with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other maritime stakeholders, participated in the synchronized sounding of ships’ horns in observance of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026 and National Maritime Week.

The synchronized sounding of ships’ horns served as a powerful symbol of unity, national pride, and the Philippines’ identity as an archipelagic nation. The collective sounding echoed a call to strengthen maritime consciousness and remind Filipinos of the vital role of the seas that connect the country’s thousands of islands.

More importantly, the activity emphasized the shared responsibility to protect the country’s maritime territory, marine environment, and coastal resources while strengthening national awareness and commitment to our maritime heritage and sovereignty.

As the ships’ horns sounded in unison, they carried a simple yet meaningful message: we are one nation, connected by the sea, proud of our maritime heritage, and committed to protecting our waters for generations to come.

𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 | 𝐂𝐀𝐁𝐔𝐆𝐀𝐎, 𝐈𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐎𝐒 𝐒𝐔𝐑

Personnel of Coast Guard Station Ilocos Sur (CGSIS), in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Cabugao, successfully conducted clearing operations at Brgy. Baclig and Brgy. Rizal, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, on 31 August 2026.

The operation was conducted following a request for assistance from MDRRMO Cabugao. Equipped with the necessary clearing equipment and tools, CGSIS personnel immediately proceeded to the affected areas to remove fallen trees, branches, and other debris obstructing the National Road and affecting nearby houses, business establishments, electric posts, and other properties.

The clearing operation was carried out in response to damage caused by strong winds associated with Tropical Depression “PILANDOK” and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). The team successfully cleared the affected areas, restoring the National Road to safe and passable conditions and facilitating the restoration of normal power supply.

Through prompt response and close coordination with local authorities, the Philippine Coast Guard continues to uphold its commitment to protecting communities and ensuring the safety and accessibility of affected areas during weather-related emergencies.
