‎Thru the leadership of Punong Barangay Ruben Enten Rivera, this Gender Sensitivity Training and Gender-Based Crime Response Seminar was successfully conducted through the initiative of the Committee on Women and Children, led by Kagawad Hilda H. Jucar.

‎We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the CSFPS WCPD Section, Pat. Emerita Balandino, of the PNP City of San Fernando Police Station, La Union PPO, for gracing us as one of our esteemed resource speakers. Your valuable insights and guidance made this activity truly meaningful and beneficial for everyone involved.

WCPD EDUCATES COMMUNITY ON SAFE SPACES ACT AND ANTI-VAWC LAW

On May 21, 2026, personnel of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of the City of San Fernando Police Station participated in a Gender-Based Crime Response Seminar held in Barangay Dallangayan Este. The activity gathered members of the Barangay Council, Barangay Health and Wellness Volunteers, Barangay Tanods, Lupon Tagapamayapa members, barangay residents, and other staff and employees.

During the seminar, city police officers discussed the salient provisions of Republic Act No. 11313, also known as the Safe Spaces Act or “Bawal Bastos Law,” as well as Republic Act No. 9262, otherwise known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004. The discussion aimed to strengthen public awareness and empower the community in addressing gender-based crimes and protecting vulnerable sectors.
