PNP SEIZES ₱700M WORTH OF SMUGGLED PERFUMES LINKED TO FOREIGN NATIONAL IN VALENZUELA RAID

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., carried out an enforcement operation against violations of R.A. No. 7394 at around 8:30 PM on April 10, 2026, inside a rubber manufacturing facility and an import-export warehouse in Brgy. East Canumay, Valenzuela City, leading to the confiscation of imported perfumes with a total market value of ₱700,000,000.00.

Operatives from the CIDG Northern District Field Unit implemented a Letter of Authority issued by the Bureau of Customs, conducted in the presence of the warehouse caretaker and a security guard. The operation resulted in the seizure of assorted imported perfume brands suspected to be unlawfully brought into the country in violation of the Consumer Act of the Philippines. The identified suspects, including a Chinese national known by the alias “Allen” and another unidentified individual, were not present during the operation and remain at large. All confiscated items are now under the custody of the Bureau of Customs for proper disposition.

Authorities are now intensifying follow-up operations and case build-up efforts to locate and apprehend the suspects, while expanding coordination with concerned agencies to determine the full extent of the illegal activity and prevent similar incidents.

This operation reinforces the PNP’s sustained drive to protect consumers and ensure that only properly regulated goods circulate in the market. It also highlights ongoing efforts to disrupt illegal trade activities that compromise both public welfare and fair business practices.

Aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda—a strategic framework of transformation designed to make police service more responsive and accountable—this accomplishment underscores the significance of Enhanced Managing Police Operations in addressing large-scale violations affecting consumer protection and economic stability.

“This operation sends a strong signal that large-scale smuggling and consumer deception will face firm enforcement actions. Hindi kukunsintihin ng PNP ang mga ilegal na gawain na nagpapahamak sa mamimili at sumisira sa patas na kalakalan,” said PNP Chief PGEN Nartatez.

“We will continue to pursue those responsible and ensure that they are held accountable under the law. Tuloy-tuloy ang aming aksyon upang matunton at mahuli ang mga sangkot sa kasong ito,” he added.

As the PNP intensifies operations against smuggling and consumer fraud to protect the public and uphold lawful commerce under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”
