Kailan bababa ang singil sa kuryente?

Ito ang direktang tinanong natin sa ginanap na budget hearing ng Department of Energy (DOE) at Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) kahapon.

Pangako sa atin ng ERC: Nakikipag-coordinate na sila sa Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) para tanggalin ang 12% Value Added Tax (VAT) na pinapataw sa System Loss Charge. Sa Oktubre o Nobyembre inaasahang mararamdaman ito sa bill ng mga consumer.

Para naman sa pag-alis ng mismong System Loss Charge, humingi si DOE Sec. Sharon Garin ng anim na buwan para bumuo ng plano kasama ang mga electric cooperatives. Unti-unti daw nila tatanggalin ang singil sa non-technical system loss (tulad ng nakaw na kuryente o pilferage).

Babantayan natin ito. Dahil ang bawat bawas sa singil sa kuryente ay ginhawa sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino.

Angat Buhay, a non-governmental organization founded by Leni Robredo, has joined forces with the Maginhawa Food Community through their "Kusina ng Pag-asa" program to deliver hope and hot meals to flooded families in Pampanga and Rizal yesterday.

Together, these partner kitchens demonstrate that no matter how heavy the rainfall, it cannot dampen the radiant warmth of a united community.

Angat Buhay, a non-governmental organization founded by Leni Robredo, has joined forces with the Maginhawa Food Community through their "Kusina ng Pag-asa" program to deliver hope and hot meals to flooded families in Pampanga and Rizal today.

As relentless Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) rains submerge communities, eleven inspiring local food establishments have answered the call to service, transforming their kitchens into hubs of bayanihan: Urban Chick Maginhawa, IKIRU Japanese Kitchen and Cafe, Puesto Modern Mexican Comfort Food, Noki Japanese Fried Chicken ノキ, Curio MNL, Lorie’s Cafe, Mrs. Lim Chinese Takeout, Black Betty Diner, The Sanctuary Cafe and Bar, Maginhawa Eco-Store, and Brutal by Wadoughs.

Together, these partner kitchens demonstrate that no matter how heavy the rainfall, it cannot dampen the radiant warmth of a united community.
