Called to Holiness, Guided by Godliness
A new week, a new reminder to live out our values!
During the regular Flag Raising Ceremony of DOST Ilocos Region on October 5, 2026, Ms. Lilian Rose S. Abuan shared this week’s Value Focus: “Holiness and Godliness.”
Holiness is the King’s pure water that cleanses us inside, while godliness is the garden that grows when we allow that water to work.
It means being set apart for God—choosing a life that is pure, dedicated, and separated from values and principles that draw us away from Him.
Godliness is higher living guided by divine principles, reflected through character in action showing God’s love, truth, and excellence in our everyday lives. As people created in God’s image and likeness, we are called to let His character be reflected in our words, choices, relationships, and service.
The Value Focus also emphasized that God cares more about inner cleansing than outward rules. True transformation begins within and becomes evident through the way we live.
Action Plan:
💙 Ask God to renew our minds and thoughts so that His character may be formed in us.
💙 Intentionally develop godly habits until they become part of our lifestyle.
💙 In everything we do—at home, at work, and in serving others—remember to do it for God and for His glory.
Moreover, Regional Director Teresita A. Tabaog shared updates and announcements to address emerging concerns to ensure effective coordination and timely delivery of services.
Lastly, DOST Ilocos Region welcomed new On-the-Job Trainees from Saint Louis College, as well as renewed GIP interns and a newly added GIP intern. Mr. Jhanlex Fernandez, Ms. Paulyn Escano, and newly added GIP intern Ms. Arianne Therese Amparo are assigned to DOST Ilocos Region. Mr. Rienrev T. Cupay, Ms. Edilyn C. Daylo, Ms. Sophia Angelica R. Catcatan, and Ms. Allysa Gabrielle P. Quigao are assigned to DOST Ilocos Norte. Ms. Rochell Jen L. Vinluan and Mr. Joel B. Carani are assigned to DOST Pangasinan–Lingayen, while Mr. Edrei Cesar A. Ramos is assigned to DOST La Union.
This week, may we allow God to cleanse our hearts, transform our character, and guide our actions, so that our lives may reflect His love, truth, and excellence.
As Colossians 3:17 reminds us, “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Let us live in holiness, grow in godliness, and do everything for the glory of God.
