The LGU San Fabian continues to support the inclusion and empowerme of PWDs in full compliance with RA 10524, An Act Expanding the Positions Reserved for Persons with Disability, which strengthens RA 7277 or the Magna Carta for PWDs.

Three (3) selected PWD beneficiaries, the 4th Batch, will undergo a 90-days On-the-Job Training (OJT) program at the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), PWD Desk, and Kabuhayan Workshop of PWDs. The trainees include two (2) deaf individuals and one (1) former OFW who is a cancer survivor.

The program aims to develop their skills, improve productivity, and provide equal opportunities for employment.

Previous batches of trainees have already been hired by the LGU under Job Order positions, showing the success of the program in helping PWDs gain employment.

Each trainee will receive an allowance during the training period to support their daily needs.

A photo opportunity was held with Ma’am Queenie Rose Cabanlig- MSWDO, Hon. Coun. Rolando Pedralvez, and Hon. Mayor Marlyn Agbayani and Jane Jane A. ILustre , the Sign Language Interpreter, whose presence ensured clear communication and proper assistance for the deaf trainees. This highlighting the LGU’s support for inclusive and accessible programs.

Through this initiative, the LGU San Fabian continues to create opportunities and promote equal rights for PWDs.

Amid the rising cost of gasoline and basic commodities, the Municipal Government of San Fabian, through the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), awarded equipment, tools, and raw materials for candle-making to PWD workers on March 31, 2026. The activity was also held in line with the celebration of Women with Disabilities Day.

The awarding was led by MSWDO Ma’am Queenie Rose H. Cabanlig, highlighting the municipality’s strong support for inclusive and community-based livelihood initiatives.

This initiative aims to assist persons with disabilities (PWDs) by strengthening their candle-making livelihood, enabling them to generate more income and better cope with daily expenses.

The Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Pangasinan successfully conducted a 3-day Disability Summit aimed at strengthening the capacity of Persons with Disability Affairs Offices (PDAOs), Municipal Health Offices (MHOs), and Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs).

The summit featured capacity-building sessions on the implementation of the Unified PWD ID System led by the National Council on Disability Affairs. As part of the initiative, computer sets were also donated by the agency to all LGU participants to support the efficient implementation of the system.

It also highlighted available health benefit packages for PWDs from PhilHealth, along with various programs and support services from NGO partners.

The activity aimed to enhance coordination among key stakeholders and improve the delivery of inclusive, responsive, and quality services for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
