Nakikiisa ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng San Agustin, Romblon sa pagdiriwang ng 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 ngayong buwan ng Hunyo 2026 na may temang “𝗔𝗸𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝗞𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮: 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗻.”

Bilang suporta sa adhikaing pangalagaan at mapanatili ang kalinisan ng ating kapaligiran, magsasagawa ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng San Agustin ng 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻-𝗨𝗽 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 sa 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘆𝗼 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 sa 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆.

Inaanyayahan ang lahat na makibahagi at makiisa sa gawaing ito bilang pagpapakita ng ating malasakit at pagmamahal sa kalikasan.

San Agustin & UST: Building Tourism and Culture on a Strong Foundation

On May 26, 2026, San Agustin, Romblon took a bold step toward a future where tourism and culture grow hand in hand. At UST Manila, we signed two key Memoranda of Agreement with the University of Santo Tomas that will shape how we plan, protect, and promote our hometown.

1. Partnership with UST-College of Tourism and Hospitality Management: This gives us solid, research-based insights on tourism and hospitality. No more guesswork—just data and analysis to guide smarter policies, better services, and stronger livelihoods for our people.

2. Partnership with USTGS-CCCPET for Strategic Cultural Heritage Mapping: Understanding who we are is just as important as knowing where we’re going. Cultural mapping helps us identify, document, and safeguard our heritage sites, traditions, crafts, and stories. It’s how we make sure development respects our roots, empowers communities, and gives visitors an authentic experience of San Agustin—not just a generic destination.

None of this moves from paper to action without strong leadership. A special thank you to Mayor Aaron James Madrona for his visionary direction and full support. His foresight reminds us that tourism isn’t just an industry—it’s becoming a way of life in San Agustin.

We also extend our gratitude to the Legislative Office - San Agustin, Romblon/Sangguniang Bayan Members, led by Vice-Mayor Hon. Norman Fatalla, for their legislative backing that turned these plans into official commitments.

Present during signing ceremony were Prof. Atty. Gezzez Giezi Garalde Granado, Dean of UST-CTHM; Ma’am Beverly Macayan Bautista, Acting Director of USTGS-CCCPET; UST-CTHM faculty Sir Ar Butiong and Sir Jerick Santos; from the LGSAR were Hon. Mayor Aaron James C. Madrona together with SB Member & Tourism, Culture and the Arts Chair Hon. Nalden Tan and Municipal Tourism Officer Mr. Jerome C. Madrona.
