ATTENTION || 'STAY AWAY FROM BEACH, COASTLINES'

BREAKING: Coastal areas in the country fronting the Pacific Ocean are expected to experience tsunami of less than one meter, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology warned Thursday following a magnitude 8.7 earthquake off Russian coast.

State seismologists said the first tsunami waves are expected to arrive between 1:20 p.m. to 2:40 p.m., July 30. They said it may not be the largest and the waves may continue for hours.

Phivolcs advised the public to be alert for unusual waves and stay away from the beach and not go to the coast of the following provinces until the cancellation of the advisory.

𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙠 3 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙢𝙤𝙧 𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤! ✨ For completing his 10 days life guard training conducted at Sunday Morning Beach Resort, Barangay Pangubatan, Kaputian District, Island Garden City of Samal.

His commitment and passion for safeguarding coastal communities truly inspires many. Hence, for his active representation here from TLSY Beachfront Resort at Barangay Camudmud also shows that he is promoting public safety, disaster resilience, and preparedness across the island.

He stated that, "Dili babag ang akong edad sa pagpadayon nako ug training aning life guard sa ikatulong higayon" in English: "Age is not a hindrance for me in pursuing this training on a third time". He also added that, he is grateful for this kind of opportunity given to him by Coast Guard Station IGACOS in partnership with the different public and private agencies. However, he is also thankful to his family, friends, and love ones for this another achievement.
