A total of 322 youth from Panabo City, Tagum City, and the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) have successfully completed the Soft/Core Skills Training (SCST) under the JobStart Philippines program, a youth employment initiative of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

๐Ÿšจ BOMB THREAT DRILL & EXPLOSION SIMULATION ๐Ÿšจ

Heads up, Samaleรฑos!
A bomb threat drill and explosion simulation will be conducted on July 29, 2025, at the New City Hall, Sitio Maag, Peรฑaplata, IGACOS.

What to Expect:
โ€ข Alarm sounds (This is only a drill)
โ€ข Presence of emergency responders
โ€ข Temporary disruption of operations in the morning

Clients are advised to conduct their transactions in the afternoon.

This drill aims to strengthen our preparedness during emergencies.

A full-service Social Security System (SSS) office will soon open in Samal, as confirmed by SSS Davao Branch Head III Ms. Alnora Y. Presbitero during her recent courtesy visit to Mayor Lemuel T. Reyes.

The upgrade from an SSS Desk to a Service Office means Samaleรฑos will no longer need to travel to Davao City, as the new office will offer complete services similar to a main branch. The City Government has pledged support by providing space at the Babak Municipal Hall.

While awaiting the officeโ€™s opening, SSS will deliver full services twice a month at its temporary satellite site in Babak Gymnasium. Ms. Presbitero also introduced various benefits of SSS membership and encouraged more residents to enroll.
