Education graduates deployed under the Government Internship Program (GIP) of the Department of Labor and Employment XI – IGACOS Extension Office served as ARAL tutors in support of the Department of Education’s Aral Program in Mambago B National High School, Nieves Villarica National High School, and Angel Villarica Central Elementary School to help strengthen learning recovery, bridge knowledge gaps, and enhance learners’ academic readiness for School Year 2026–2027 through tutoring and academic reinforcement activities during the summer break. As the program nears completion this May 2026, DOLE XI – IGACOS personnel conducted monitoring on May 21 to assess implementation and tutoring sessions across partner schools.

The collaboration between the Department of Labor and Employment and the Department of Education continues to highlight the importance of inter-agency partnerships in advancing education recovery, youth employment, and community development in Island Garden City of Samal.

𝑺𝑨𝑴𝑨𝑳 𝑼𝑷𝑫𝑨𝑻𝑬𝑺 || DOLE, PESO conducts orientation to 92 SPES Qualified Applicants

The Department of Labor and Employment, in partnership with the local government of Island Garden City of Samal through the City Mayor’s Office-Public Employment Services Office, gathered 92 Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) qualified applicants for an orientation today, May 19, 2026 at New City Hall Roof Deck, Brgy. Peñaplata, IGACOS.

During the orientation, the SPES qualified applicants were briefed on the program guidelines, roles and responsibilities, and requirements prior to their deployment to various offices and partner agencies.

Meanwhile, Sir Myko Baban, DOLE representative, reminded the qualified applicants of the importance of professionalism in the workplace, emphasizing that the program serves as an opportunity to gain valuable work experience for future employment.

This program aims to help students and out of school youth (OSY) augment their financial needs for education.
