In a strong demonstration of unity, leadership, and commitment to lasting peace, the conflict or RIDO between the Domrang-Zaman Family and the Balt-Pangarungan Family has been peacefully settled on 28 April 2026 at the Municipal Function Hall, Poblacion, Munai, Lanao del Norte. The conflict stemmed from a vehicular accident that transpired on 23 December 2025 along the national highway in Pantar, Lanao del Norte. Today, what once caused division has now become a symbol of reconciliation, understanding, and renewed harmony.
The settlement proceedings were presided over by Hon. Racma D. Andamama, Municipal Mayor, COL ROBERT F BETITA ARM (GSC) PA, Brigade Executive Officer, 2nd Mechanized Brigade, Armor Division, PA; Hon. Ikie Balabagan, ABC President; and PCPT PANDAPATAN P. TATAAN, Chief of Police, Munai MPS.
Through this milestone, the 44 Infantry (Agile Nโ Stable) Battalion, under the leadership of LTC JEREMY D DAMONSONG, INF (GSC) PA, played an active role in the successful resolution of the conflict. The unitโs guidance and commitment to peacebuilding significantly contributed to fostering dialogue, ensuring coordination, and strengthening trust among stakeholders and the community. The battalion was represented on the ground by CPT JAMEL O TAWANTAWAN (QMS) PA, Civil-Military Operations Officer.
Beyond the battlefield, the true strength of the military shines in moments like thisโwhere peace, not conflict, is the mission. The successful settlement of this rido reflects not only the willingness of both families to reconcile, but also the unwavering commitment of our soldiers who stand as guardians of unity, dialogue, and stability within the community. Through patience, coordination, and genuine concern for the people, the military once again proves that its role goes far beyond warfightingโit is also a force for peace, bridging divides and helping rebuild trust. Todayโs resolution is a testament that with collective effort, even the deepest conflicts can be transformed into lasting harmony.
The 44IB remains steadfast in its mission to protect communities and foster peace, proving that true strength lies not only in force, but in the power of reconciliation and service to the people.
Kapayapaan ang ating tagumpay, at pagkakaisa ang ating lakas.
