Slope Protection Completed at Jose Gonzales Elementary School

The Municipality of Sablan thru the MDRRMO has responded to the schools plight on the urgent construction of slope protection to alleviate the grave effect of the eroded slope to the school facilities which would impede delivery of education to learners.

The completion of this project signifies strong leadership of both the internal and external stakeholders, and efficient response and rehabilitation measures.

With this achievement, we would like to acknowledge the officialdom of Sablan headed by Hon. Mayor Alfredo Dacumos Jr., MDRRM officer Galo Santa, Barangay Chairman Renato Pacheco, PTA President Armando Polino and those who took part in this project, for the continued support.

February 23, 2026, Monday, JGES learners and school personnel enjoyed a fresh and healthy lettuce salad prepared through the school’s Gulayan sa Paaralan program. Grades 4–5 learners proudly harvested the lettuce they had grown and turned it into nutritious snacks for 57 learners and 7 school personnel.

The learners were assisted by their class advisers and the school’s administrative officer during the preparation and distribution of the salad. The activity highlighted the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and healthy eating habits within the school community.

This initiative aimed to strengthen health and well-being by providing supplemental feeding using produce grown in the school garden. The Gulayan sa Paaralan continuously serves as a learning laboratory for learners, giving them hands-on experience in gardening, nutrition, and sustainability. Through activities like this, learners not only enjoy the fruits of their labor but also develop valuable life skills that promote overall well-being.

PTA Leads Clean-Up Drive at Jose Gonzales Elementary School to Ensure Student Safety

July 30, 2025 – Jose Gonzales Elementary School

After almost two weeks of heavy rain caused by a typhoon and the enhanced southwest monsoon, the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of Jose Gonzales Elementary School led a clean-up drive on July 30, 2025, to make the school safe for students.

The rains left the school surroundings wet and slippery, with moss and debris that could cause accidents. To address this, the PTA, together with teachers and barangay officials, worked together to clean the school grounds.

Volunteers removed moss from walkways, cleaned classrooms and hallways, and made sure the school environment was safe and ready for students to return. Barangay officials provided support by bringing tools and helping with the clean-up, while teachers helped organize the work. Thanks to this joint effort, Jose Gonzales Elementary School is now ready to welcome back its learners safely.
