MPPCRT RAMPS UP CYBERCRIME PREVENTION, ANTI-BULLYING AWARENESS IN MOUNTAIN PROVINCE

Strengthening its commitment to a safer, more informed, and responsible community, personnel of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) Mountain Province Provincial Cyber Response Team (MPPCRT) participated in the Gender and Development (GAD) Seminar conducted by Sabangan National High School at Tambingan, Nacagang, Sabangan, Mountain Province.

The MPPCRT highlighted the mandate of the ACG and provided practical guidance on cybercrime prevention, cybersecurity, and responsible digital practices, including protecting personal information, online accounts, finances, and digital identity. Participants were reminded to remain vigilant against suspicious messages, links, online transactions, and requests for sensitive information, as well as the importance of preserving digital evidence and reporting incidents through proper channels.

The discussion also covered Republic Act No. 10627, or the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013, including traditional bullying and cyberbullying, their causes and effects, and their impact on the safety, dignity, well-being, and learning environment of students. A brief discussion on Nihilism encouraged participants to reflect on the importance of values, responsibility, empathy, and respect in preventing destructive attitudes and behavior.

The activity underscored that community safety requires awareness, vigilance, responsible decision-making, and respect for others both online and offline. Through sustained information dissemination and community engagement, the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group remains committed to empowering individuals to become informed, vigilant, responsible, and digitally resilient members of society.

🚨 SCAM ALERT: “FAKE BANK SECURITY CALL” MODUS🚨

📞 “Taga-Bank po kami. May fraudulent transaction sa account ninyo.”

Ganito nagsisimula ang isang modus kung saan nagpapanggap ang scammer bilang bank security/fraud officer. Nakakatakot ang kanilang tawag dahil alam nila ang ilang impormasyon ng biktima gaya ng pangalan, mobile number, at maging ang huling apat na digit ng bank account.

Para mas maging kapani-paniwala, sasabihin nilang may fraud o kahina-hinalang transaction sa iyong account at tutulungan ka raw nilang ma-secure ito. Maaari pa nilang banggitin ang NBI, PNP Cybercrime Group, o ibang law enforcement agency upang magmukhang lehitimo ang kanilang proseso.

🎭 Gagamitin nila ang takot, urgency at kunwaring malasakit:

> “Grabe po ang nangyari sa account ninyo.”
> “Tutulungan po namin kayong ma-secure ang account.”
> “May marereceive po kayong verification code.”
> “Pakibasa po sa amin ang code para ma-verify na kayo ang account holder.”

⚠️ DITO NAGSISIMULA ANG PANGANIB.

Ang code na hinihingi nila ay maaaring OTP o transaction authorization code na ginagamit upang makumpleto ang isang financial transaction—kabilang ang loan/credit application o iba pang unauthorized transaction.

❌ HUWAG NA HUWAG IBIGAY ANG OTP, PIN, PASSWORD, O TRANSACTION CODE SA TUMAWAG SA IYO.

TANDAAN:
🔴 Alam nila ang pangalan mo? Hindi ibig sabihin na legit sila.
🔴 Alam nila ang account number mo? Hindi ibig sabihin na authorized sila.
🔴 Binanggit nila ang NBI o Cybercrime Group? Hindi ibig sabihin na opisyal ang tawag.
🔴 May verification code? Huwag itong sabihin sa caller.

On August 27, 2026, personnel of the Cotabato Provincial Cyber Response Team, under the supervision of PCOL Alvin M. Martin, Chief of RACU 12, conducted Project ACCESS (Awareness through Cybercrime Education to Students for a Safer Online World) at Central Mindanao Colleges, Kidapawan City, Province of Cotabato.

The activity, part of the school-based programs of RACU 12, aimed to equip students from the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) with essential knowledge on cybercrime prevention, common online threats, protection of personal information, and responsible digital behavior, while encouraging them to become proactive and responsible digital citizens.

“Through Project ACCESS, we empower students to recognize cyber threats, stay safe online, and practice responsible digital citizenship. Together with our school partners, we strive to build a safer digital community,” stated PMGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Director, PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group.

On August 27, 2026, personnel of the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Cyber Response Team, under the supervision of PCOL Alvin M. Martin, Chief of RACU 12, conducted Project ACCESS (Awareness through Cybercrime Education to Students for a Safer Online World) at San Emmanuel National High School (SENHS), Barangay San Emmanuel, Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat.

The activity, part of the school-based programs of RACU 12, was attended by 100 Senior High School students and their teachers and aimed to strengthen their awareness of cybercrime and online risks, including common cyber threats, protection of personal information, and responsible digital behavior.

The engagement also encouraged students and teachers to promote continuous awareness and vigilance against cyber-related offenses, while fostering a safer, more responsible, and secure digital environment within the school community.

“Through Project ACCESS, we empower our students and teachers with the knowledge to recognize cyber threats, stay safe online, and practice responsible digital citizenship.
