In line with the celebration of the ๐๐ธ๐ท๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐ธ๐ฏ ๐ฝ๐ฑ๐ฎ ๐๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ช๐ท 2026, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Capiz partnered with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pilar through its Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) in the conduct of various environmental activities aimed at promoting marine conservation, environmental stewardship, and community participation.
Among the highlights of the celebration were the แดแดแดแดแดษดษชแดส แดแดแด-สษชแดแด แดสแดษชส, แดแดแดแดแดษดษชแดส แดแดแด๊ฑแดแดส แดสแดแดษด-แดแด, แดแดษดสแด แด

A total of sixteen (16) cycling enthusiasts and environmental advocates participated in the Community Eco-Bike Trail, promoting eco-friendly transportation while raising awareness on the importance of protecting the environment, particularly the coastal and marine ecosystems that support the livelihoods and well-being of local communities.
Following the Eco-Bike Trail, DENR Capiz conducted the โPalit-Basura, Balik-Eskwela 2026โ initiative, an environmental program designed to encourage proper solid waste management, promote recycling, and reduce waste leakage into rivers, estuaries, and oceans. The activity also provided support to students in preparation for the opening of classes.
Through the program, residents of Pilar were able to exchange recyclable materials such as eco-bricks, empty plastic bottles, and discarded fishing nets for corresponding points redeemable for school supplies. Participants who accumulated at least 100 points became eligible to receive educational materials and school items. The initiative highlighted the value of waste segregation, recycling, and resource recovery while fostering environmental responsibility among community members.
DENR Capiz personnel also actively participated in the Community Coastal Clean-Up conducted within the beach forest area of Barangay San Ramon, Pilar, Capiz. The activity brought together various stakeholders, volunteers, and local residents in a collective effort to protect coastal resources and promote cleaner shorelines.
As part of the celebration, DENR Capiz, headed by ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ง๐ช๐ค๐ฆ๐ณ ๐๐ณ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ด๐ต ๐. ๐๐ฆ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ช๐ด๐ฐ, ๐๐, also attended the MENRO Day Program of LGU Pilar, reaffirming the agency's commitment to strengthening partnerships with local government units and communities in advancing environmental protection and sustainable development initiatives.
The series of activities underscored the vital role of community involvement in preventing marine pollution and conserving coastal ecosystems. By promoting responsible waste management, environmental awareness, and collective action, the activities contributed to the broader objectives of the Month of the Ocean celebration, which advocates for the sustainable use and protection of the country's marine and coastal resources.
Together, let us continue protecting our oceans and coastal resources through responsible waste management, reduction of plastic pollution, and strengthened environmental stewardship for a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for present and future generations.
