This day 18 June 2025, after 4 months of rigorous training, marks the end of multiple restrictions that these trainees have experienced in the training center.

The Recognition Ceremony marks a significant milestone in the journey of Candidate Coast Guard Non-Officers, symbolizing the successful completion of the most challenging phase of their training - the Boot camp phase. It is a time-honored tradition that acknowledges the discipline, resilience, and dedication demonstrated by the candidates as they transition from civilians into future defenders of the nation.

During the ceremony, trainees are formally recognized for their accomplishments and are granted the privilege to wear symbols of their new status, such as military insignia, badges, or uniforms. The event often includes the presence of commanding officers, instructors, families, and distinguished guests, who witness the transformation of the trainees into members of the uniformed personnel.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Today, the Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command conducted the 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐧-𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝟏𝟏𝟎 -𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 composed of 350 male trainees aboard 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐳.

The said convening was presided by 𝐕𝐀𝐃𝐌 𝐄𝐃𝐆𝐀𝐑 𝐋 𝐘𝐁𝐀𝐍̃𝐄𝐙 𝐏𝐂𝐆, Deputy Commandant for Operations, Philippine Coast Guard. In his message, 𝐕𝐀𝐃𝐌 𝐘𝐁𝐀𝐍̃𝐄𝐙 𝐏𝐂𝐆 encouraged trainees to commit themselves fully to the course, embrace challenges, and support one another.

𝐕𝐀𝐃𝐌 𝐘𝐁𝐀𝐍̃𝐄𝐙 𝐏𝐂𝐆 also reminded the trainees that this course is the beginning of a calling to serve, protect, lead, and express high expectations for their future achievements.

The said class will go through a rigorous six-months transformation journey, honing their abilities and strengthening their capabilities in all areas of their development. This intensive training program develops their academic, mental, and physical fortitude, making them well-rounded coastguardians. After completing, they will not only have the requisite skills and abilities, but they will also have the moral fiber to be a great contribution of the Philippine Coast Guard.

Look: On 14February 2025, RTC Capiz, together with the Nursing Service Unit-RTC Capiz, celebrated Valentine's Day in a special way. Our Chaplain Service facilitated a workshop on "LOVE, COURTSHIP, and MARRIAGE."

The workshop focused on the value of nurturing meaningful relationships, the essentials of building a strong foundation for courtship, and the keys to maintaining a happy and fulfilling marriage. Our Coastguardians gained valuable insights on prioritizing love, communication, and trust in their personal and professional lives.

Even when we're far apart, love knows no distance. Let's spread love and kindness to everyone around us!

To ensure the readiness of the Regional Training Center Capiz for the upcoming training session, a thorough ocular inspection was conducted by the National Headquarters (NHQ) Inspection team. This inspection was led by 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐎 𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐆 𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐒𝐀 𝐏𝐂𝐆, Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Human Resource Management, CG-1 and supported by 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐑 𝐑 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐀 𝐏𝐂𝐆, Chief of Training Staff at the Coast Guard Education, Training, and Doctrine Command (CGETDC).

The inspection highlighted the team's commitment to the construction and enhancement of the center’s infrastructure, underlining their strong endorsement for the continued development of facilities critical to training excellence. Through this on-site evaluation, the team reaffirmed its full support for the necessary upgrades, ensuring the center will meet the needs of future Coast Guard personnel.

This ocular inspection also served to solidify the alignment of the facility’s progress with the vision of CGETDC, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, standardized training for future Coast Guardians. It was an essential step in confirming that the training environment will be equipped to provide exceptional and uniform instruction to upcoming Coast Guard recruits.

Saturday inspection is a routine check conducted to ensure personnel, their uniforms, equipment, and living spaces meet established standards of cleanliness, order, and readiness. This inspection promotes discipline, professionalism, and accountability. It helps maintain operational readiness by identifying any issues with equipment or appearance and reinforces a culture of high standards among personnel.

This initiative are important for tactical officers and drill instructors as they set the standard for discipline, order, and readiness among all personnel. These inspections allow them to lead by example, demonstrating the importance of attention to detail, organization, and adherence to standards. By maintaining high expectations in the barracks and ranks, tactical officers and drill instructors instill these values in their trainees, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork that is crucial for operational effectiveness and respect within the unit.

Congratulations to PO3 Antonio A Abelido Jr PCG!

The Regional Training Center radiates with pride as we celebrate the remarkable achievements of our inspiring Drill Instructor, PO3 Abelido PCG, proud member of both the Philippine National Team and West Philippine Sea Dragon Boat Team. With strength and precision, they paddled their way to victory, earning one (1) gold and two (2) silver medals at the Paddler of the West Philippine Sea Dragon Boat International Race happened last 26-27 October 2024. Their success continued on the global stage, where they soared even higher, capturing four (4) gold and two (2) silver medals under the Master Category at the 2024 ICF World Championship Race.

We applaud your resilience, teamwork, and relentless drive, bringing great honor and distinction to our organization and nation. Congratulations on setting a powerful standard of excellence!

In commemoration of the 51st Founding Anniversary of the 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 (𝐂𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐃𝐂), the Regional Training Center Capiz, in collaboration with Barangay Baybay Officials led by Hon. Erwin B. Oroceo, organized a coastal Clean-up Drive on 30 July 2024. This event took place along the shore of Barangay Baybay, extending to People's Park in Roxas City, Capiz.

The cleanup drive focused on the beautiful and diverse shores of Barangay Baybay and People's Park. RTC personnel and Barangay Baybay officials demonstrated remarkable camaraderie in their efforts to clean up the shoreline. This effort removed significant debris, including plastic waste, discarded fishing nets, and other pollutants from the beach and shore.

The 51st anniversary of CGETDC was an ideal opportunity to celebrate the organization's accomplishments and its commitment to community service and environmental conservation. The coastal cleanup drive by RTC Capiz exemplifies how collective efforts can bring about significant positive change, promoting a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤: On 22 July 2024, the Regional Training Center Capiz personnel, together with Coast Guard Station Capiz and Coast Guard Search and Rescue Base personnel demonstrated its strong commitment to community service and education by participating in the Brigada Eskwela 2024 Kick-off Program, themed “𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐆 𝐧𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧.” held at Brgy. Culasi Gym, Roxas City, Capiz.

This significant activity is part of the Pre-Anniversary Activities leading up to the 51st Founding Anniversary of the Coast Guard Education, Training, and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) on 21 September 2024. Further, this marks an annual tradition and a nationwide voluntary effort involving teachers, parents, students, community members, and various organizations to undertake minor repairs and clean-ups in schools in preparation for the start of the school year.

As a humanitarian and uniformed service organization, Brigada Eskwela means more than just community service for the Philippine Coast Guard. It highlights the ties with local communities and promotes the welfare and education of the youth which is crucial for the future of the nation. This involvement reflects the Coast Guard's commitment to bayanihan (communal unity) and its mission to serve and protect the Filipino people.

The depth of their commitment and loyalty to serving the people and country is unparalleled. Bonded with unity and discipline, their brotherhood as a class embraced diversity from their different cultures, beliefs, and traditions. They are the result of military-indoctrinated individuals fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork through shared experiences inside the training center. Respecting each individual’s uniqueness and emphasizing shared values and goals to achieve unity and effectiveness in fulfilling their mission and vision as full-pledged Coast Guardians.

Their “class song” is a powerful symbol that embodies their unity amidst diversity. It symbolizes their values and traditions, serving as a source of inspiration, unity, and pride for service members and aspiring individuals around the country, reminding them of the importance of their mission and the values they uphold.

Their class song and class seal perfectly reflect their unity amidst diversity, molded as a whole class.

“MANLALAYAG” we the sailors of the sea, sailing our embraced profession in the world of uniformed service and life savers, offering our full pledge of life and honor in performing our best for our country. “ALAB” nagliliyab, nagbabaga, burn! With a burning passion to serve our country and flaming hearts eager to perform the Coastguardian’s duty effectively, ALAB MANLALAYAG as we are ready to save lives and properties at sea!

In a few days, their journey inside the training center will come to a close. Culminating their basic training course, the 398 strong members of Class 103-2023, ALAB MANLALAYAG, are ready to march during their graduation rites on 17 May 2024.

Military customs and traditions have been followed over the years in various ways by different nations and organizations. The Accolade is a ceremony to confer knighthood by tapping of the flat side of the sword on the shoulders of a candidate.

The "Recognition Rites" symbolize the triumph of a Candidate Coast Guard Non-Officer over their inclination to give up. It represents his triumph over the strong want to resign. By being acknowledged, a Candidate Coast Guard Non-Officer publicly affirms that they have achieved self-mastery and embraced the life of being a follower, as well as the crucial life of serving in the Coast Guard.
