From May 28 to June 12, we proudly observe National Flag Days — a 16-day commemoration that began with the first unfurling of the Philippine Flag after the Battle of Alapan in 1898 and culminates on Independence Day. 🇵🇭

Alpha Battery Holds Assumption of Command

TANJAY CITY, Negros Oriental- In a significant leadership transition aimed at strengthening operational readiness and unit effectiveness, 1LT Gin Lagunero formally assumed command of Alpha Battery during an Assumption of Command Ceremony held on 23 May 2026 at the Headquarters Alpha Battery, Camp Leon Kilat, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental.

The Ceremony was presided over by LTC Reymando J Braza ART (GSC) PA, Acting Commanding Officer, who highlighted the importance of committed and dynamic leadership in sustaining the mission and professionalism of the unit.

The event was attended by the personnel of Alpha Battery and the Staff Officers of the Battalion through VTC who witnessed the formal transfer of responsibility and authority.

In his message, LTC Braza emphasized that leadership is anchored not only on authority but also on service, discipline, and dedication to the welfare of troops and accomplishment of mission objectives. He expressed confidence that 1LT Lagunero possesses the competence, integrity, and leadership qualities necessary to lead Alpha Battery toward greater operational excellence.

The assumption of command signifies a renewed commitment to uphold the unit’s mandate and further enhance the organization’s capability in corresponding to operational requirements and supporting to higher headquarters’ directives. It also reinforces the continuing effort of the unit to maintain professionalism, cohesion, and readiness in performance of its duties. As new Battery Commander, 1LT Lagunero is expected to lead Alpha Battery in sustaining its troop morale and welfare, and ensuring the effective ex*****on of all assigned missions.

The Assumption of Command Ceremony remains a longstanding military tradition that symbolizes trust, accountability, and continuity within the organization.

“Training Today for Mission Success Tomorrow”

The 3rd Field Artillery Battalion “Hell Every Shell”, Artillery Regiment, Philippine Army successfully completed the Immediate Action Drill (IAD) for Convoy Operations Training in coordination with Combat Photography 2026 as part of its in-house training conducted from May 4–18, 2026 at H3FAB, Camp General Macario B. Peralta Jr., Jamindan, Capiz.

The two-week activity covered Artillery Convoy Troop Leading Procedures, Movement Preparation, Tactical Marches, Combat Life Saving, and Immediate Action Drills, with realistic scenarios facilitated by umpires from the 3rd Division Training School, 3ID, PA.

Sixteen (16) personnel of 3FAB participated in the training to enhance combat readiness, teamwork, and proficiency in responding to enemy contact during convoy operations. Simultaneously, military photographers strengthened their capability to capture mission-relevant visual documentation while observing operational security and safety protocols.

This training reflects the unit’s commitment to excellence, operational readiness, and mission accomplishment in service to the nation.
