Showing strength, endurance, and determination, Captain Crisanto A Anas PCG, Commander of the Coast Guard Special Operations Group–Western Visayas (SOG-WV) secured 3rd place in the 51 and up Age Group Category, SN2 Fernando L Vista Jr PCG member of SOG-WV also stood out with an impressive performance, earning the title of Overall Champion in the Adult Category.

Lieutenant Commander Gemlan F Lanusga PCG, Station Commander of Coast Guard Satation (CGS) Capiz also joined the event, reflecting the active involvement of PCG personnel in promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: The Coast Guard District Western Visayas led by Commodore Ludovico D Librilla Jr, successfully ensured the safe and secure arrival and departure of His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at Roxas City Airport on 27 April 2026.

With the active participation of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Capiz units conducted advance inter-agency coordination, K9 security sweeps, and strategic deployment of 33 personnel, supported by land mobility assets and a rubber boat for maritime readiness. Through close coordination with partner agencies, the PCG maintained heightened security from arrival to send-off, ensuring the safety of the President and his delegation.

During the visit, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., together with First Lady Marie Louise Araneta-Marcos, led the oath-taking of newly promoted teachers and school heads from Western Visayas under the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) Program. The ceremony was held at Villareal Stadium, highlighting the Administration’s commitment to empowering Filipino educators.

The successful operation underscores the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment to operational readiness, strong coordination, and mission excellence in support of national leadership.

The coordinated deployment of personnel ensured the safety and security of all participants and spectators throughout the duration of the activity. The teams were strategically positioned along the swim and run routes, providing continuous monitoring, rapid response capability, and immediate medical assistance when necessary. In addition, a number of personnel also participated in the said event, demonstrating not only operational readiness but also physical fitness and support for community-based activities.

π—ͺπ—œπ—§π—‘π—˜π—¦π—¦: The Regional Training Center Capiz proudly showcases the highlights of the Recognition Ceremony of the Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Course (CGNOC) Class 118-2025 β€œHIRAYA BADARI” composed of 173 male trainees, held at the Coast Guard Regional Training Center Capiz, Brgy. Culasi, Roxas City.

This milestone marks the successful completion of the boot camp phase and the trainees’ readiness to move forward in their journey of service.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Regional Training Center (RTC) Capiz formally recognized 173 male trainees during the Recognition Ceremony of the Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Course (CGNOC) Class 118-2025 β€œHIRAYA BADARI,” held at the Regional Training Center Capiz, Culasi Port, Brgy. Culasi, Roxas City, Capiz today, April 23, 2026.

The Commander of Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV), Commodore Ludovico D Librilla Jr PCG, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. In his message, he underscored the vital importance of discipline, dedication, and excellence in training, reminding the trainees of the life-saving responsibility they will soon carry.

β€œTrain hard nowβ€”because one day, someone else’s life will depend on how well you did. Let that sink in. The skills you practice, the discipline you build, and the standards you choose to follow will not only define your career, but may one day mean the difference between life and loss at sea,” he emphasized.

The trainees successfully completed a rigorous four-month training program designed to enhance their physical endurance, mental resilience, moral integrity, and spiritual readiness. Throughout their boot camp journey, they were challenged beyond their perceived limits, equipping them with the competence and character necessary to meet the demanding duties of Coast Guard service.

As part of the ceremony, Commodore Librilla PCG was also presented with a plaque of appreciation in recognition of his steadfast support and commitment to the Regional Training Center Capiz.

The PCG continues to uphold its mission of developing highly capable, disciplined, and service-oriented personnel, ready to safeguard life and ensure maritime security.

The Philippine Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV), through the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Training Institute, is now on its seventh day of conducting the Maritime Security and Law Enforcement (MARSLEC) Package Course at Headquarters CGDWV, Zone II, Bo. Obrero, Lapuz, Iloilo City today, April 21, 2026.

The training session for today highlights comprehensive practical exercises focused on use of force, control techniques, and aggressive response techniques. These hands-on drills are designed to enhance the operational readiness, discipline, and tactical proficiency of participating personnel in addressing real-world maritime security scenarios.

The MARSLEC Package Course forms part of the Philippine Coast Guard’s continuous effort to strengthen its law enforcement capabilities and ensure that its personnel remain competent, responsive, and mission-ready in safeguarding the nation’s maritime domain.

In line with this, personnel carried out information dissemination activities, providing reminders to the public, particularly β€œPaalala sa mga Beachgoers ngayong Bakasyon,” emphasizing proper safety practices, responsible behavior, and environmental stewardship while enjoying coastal areas. These efforts are further supported by Seaborne Patrols, which are essential in monitoring maritime activities, ensuring rapid response, and maintaining safety and security at sea. Likewise, the marking of the Safety, Security, and Environmental Numbering System (SSEN) on motorbancas plays a crucial role in proper vessel identification, enhancing maritime law enforcement, and facilitating quicker response during emergencies and search and rescue operations.

Moreover, CGS Capiz personnel maintained a strong presence to safeguard the public, promote adherence to maritime laws and regulations, and strengthen coordination and cooperation with the maritime community, ensuring a safer, more secure, and environmentally responsible maritime domain.

The meeting centered on the presentation and discussion of the concept and overall framework for a coordinated interagency exercise on territorial defense operations to be conducted in Iloilo Province.
