⚓ 𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: The Nursing Service Sub-Unit, Regional Training Center (NSSU RTC)–Capiz successfully conducted the 5th batch of its two-day 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝗕𝗟𝗦) 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 for RTC Capiz personnel, Station Capiz personnel, and CCGNO Class 118-2025 on 14–15 May 2026 held at RTC Capiz, Brgy Culasi, Culasi Port, Roxas City.

The activity highlights the continued commitment and dedication of NSSU RTC–Capiz in equipping Philippine Coast Guard personnel with essential lifesaving knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary for effective emergency response and patient care during critical situations. The training further enhanced the participants’ preparedness, confidence, and capability in responding promptly and efficiently to life-threatening emergencies.

A total of thirty-three (33) participants successfully completed the training, demonstrating their commitment to professionalism, safety, operational readiness, and excellence in lifesaving service.

⚓𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐛-𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐑𝐓𝐂 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐳 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐓𝐂 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐳 promptly responded to a fisherman who lost consciousness while at sea and was immediately transported to MEDFAS Clinic for emergency medical intervention.

This incident underscored the vital importance of 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 (𝘽𝙇𝙎), rapid emergency response, and effective coordination among units of the Philippine Coast Guard and in collaboration with external healthcare providers, in delivering timely and life-saving medical care during critical situations.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: The Nursing Service Sub-Unit, Regional Training Center (NSSU RTC)–Capiz successfully conducted the two-day 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝗕𝗟𝗦) 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 for RTC Capiz, MEDFAS Capiz personnel, and CCGNO Class 118-2025, on 11–12 May 2026. A total of thirty-nine (39) participants attended and completed the training.

The training equipped participants with essential life-saving knowledge and practical skills necessary in responding to medical emergencies and critical incidents. Topics and hands-on demonstrations included Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), rescue breathing, management of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO), and the proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

This activity further strengthened the readiness and capability of Coast Guard responders in saving lives and serving the public.

In coordination with the Coast Guard Station Capiz, a standby medical team from NSSU–MEDFAS RTC Capiz was successfully deployed during the 𝑪𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒛𝒕𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 "𝑩𝒂𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑾𝒂𝒊𝒕 𝑭𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕" 𝒂𝒏𝒅 "𝑨𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒍𝒐𝒏" 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝑨𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒍 𝟭𝟵 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝟮𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, respectively.

Equipped with essential medical supplies, including a first aid kit and an automated external defibrillator (AED), the team was strategically stationed at the Parade Ground of RTC Capiz and People’s Park in Baybay, Roxas City to provide immediate medical assistance.

The deployment contributed to the safe, orderly, and successful conduct of both activities, highlighting the Philippine Coast Guard's commitment to public service, safety, and rapid emergency response in support of community events and coastal operations.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: The 𝘕𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘣-𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵, 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 (𝘕𝘚𝘚𝘜 𝘙𝘛𝘊) 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘻, provided nursing interventions and procedural assistance during a two-day Medical Consultation and Circumcision Service held on 11-12 April 2026, at the RTC Capiz Building in Brgy. Culasi, Roxas City. The activity was initiated by the 𝘔𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘈𝘪𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘙𝘛𝘊 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘻, with the support of 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘎𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘻.

Through the strong collaboration and collective efforts of the medical and nursing personnel, alongside Coast Guard Station Capiz personnel, the team successfully catered to 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲-𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 (𝟐𝟑) 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 and performed 𝐟𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐲-𝐭𝐰𝐨 (𝟓𝟐) 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 procedures for PCG dependents and residents of Barangay Culasi.

This initiative highlights the continued commitment of the Philippine Coast Guard to public service, compassion, and the importance of accessible healthcare. The active involvement of the Nursing Service underscores its dedication to supporting medical operations and promoting the health and well-being of uniformed personnel, their dependents and the communities they serve.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: The Nursing Service Sub-Unit, Regional Training Center (NSSU RTC)–Capiz successfully conducted the 3rd batch of the 𝘁𝘄𝗼-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝗕𝗟𝗦) 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 for CGNOC Class 118–2025 and RTC Capiz personnel on 30–31 March 2026 at Classroom 1, RTC Capiz, Brgy. Culasi, Roxas City, Capiz. The training taught participants important life-saving skills such as CPR, proper use of AED, and how to manage choking and provide rescue breathing, helping improve their readiness to respond to emergencies.

A total of thirty-two (32) participants were certified as BLS providers, composed of two (2) RTC personnel and thirty (30) trainees from Bravo Company. The successful conduct of the BLS training marked a significant step in strengthening the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝’𝐬 readiness to respond to life-threatening emergencies. This training not only improved the knowledge and skills but also built the confidence needed to act promptly and save lives when it matters most.

𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜:The Nursing Service Sub-Unit, Regional Training Center–Capiz successfully conducted another two-day 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 (𝐁𝐋𝐒) Training for CGNOC Class 118–2025 on 26–27 March 2026. A total of twenty-seven (27) trainees from Alpha Company were certified as BLS providers.

This initiative continues to strengthen the capabilities of future responders in the Philippine Coast Guard by equipping them with essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively handle life-threatening emergencies.

𝐁𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬!

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Nursing Service Sub-Unit (NSSU) of RTC Capiz successfully held a two-day 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 (𝐁𝐋𝐒) training for four (4) RTC Capiz Training Directorate, one (1) MEDFAS Capiz personnel and twenty-nine (29) trainees from CGNOC CL118-2025 Alpha company. The training took place on November 22–23, 2026, at the RTC Building in Brgy. Culasi, Culasi Port, Roxas City.

The training was designed to strengthen participants’ readiness and confidence in managing life-threatening emergencies by providing them with vital knowledge and practical, hands-on skills in Basic Life Support (BLS). It emphasized core competencies such as delivering high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants, proper use of automated external defibrillators (AED), efficient foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO) management, and appropriate rescue breathing techniques.

The initiative reinforces the Coast Guard’s commitment to preparedness, professionalism, and the preservation of life through timely and effective emergency response.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Nursing Service Sub-Unit, Regional Training Center Capiz (NSSU-RTC Capiz) personnel conducted Troops Information and Education (TI and E) to CGNOC Class 118-2025 and Drill Instructors of RTC Capiz, focusing on 𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 in relation to the ongoing Swimming Qualification Test (SQT) and other physical activities at RTC Capiz, Roxas City, Capiz on 01 February 2026.

It enables trainees and instructors to recognize early signs, identify emergencies, and promptly refer patients for timely care and life-saving treatment, and further strengthens health and safety readiness.
