Iloilo City – After more or less two months of monitoring and surveillance, operatives successfully implemented a search warrant against a high-value drug personality, resulting in the confiscation of more than PhP1.3 million worth of suspected shabu and a firearm.

The search warrant, issued on May 5, 2026 by Branch 39 of the Regional Trial Court in Iloilo City, was served at about 9:52 AM on May 7, 2026, at Zone 3, Brgy. Pali Benedicto, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

Arrested was alias “Romar,” 49 years old, jobless, and a resident of Mandurriao, Iloilo City. Authorities identified the suspect as a high-value individual allegedly operating throughout Iloilo City, particularly in the district of Mandurriao.

Recovered during the operation were thirty (30) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 200 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price of PhP1,360,000.00, one caliber .38 pistol loaded with four live ammunition, four improvised tooters, and other assorted drug paraphernalia.

The operation was conducted by personnel of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 in coordination with Iloilo City Police Office - Police Station 5, Regional Intelligence Division 6, City Intelligence Unit of ICPO, and the Special Weapons and Tactics Team of ICPO.

POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEFINO D LIGAN commended the operating units for the successful operation and reiterated the commitment of the police force in intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs and loose fi****ms.

“This successful operation reflects the strong commitment of our police personnel in protecting our communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs and criminality. The confiscation of these illegal substances and firearm prevented possible threats to public safety and saved many lives from being destroyed by illegal drugs. We will continue to strengthen our operations to ensure safer communities for everyone,” PBGEN LIGAN said.

The suspect is now under police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, particularly Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment, Instrument, Apparatus, and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs). Section 11 carries the penalty of life imprisonment and a fine ranging from PhP500,000.00 to PhP10,000,000.00, while Section 12 carries the penalty of imprisonment ranging from six months and one day to four years, and a fine ranging from PhP10,000.00 to PhP50,000.00.

The suspect will also face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Iloilo City – Operatives of Iloilo City Police Office Police Station 4 arrested a couple and seized approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of PhP1,020,000.00 during a buy-bust operation conducted at Zone 3, Brgy. San Juan, Molo, Iloilo City, at about 4:15 PM on May 6, 2026.

The arrested couple were identified as alias “Walter,” a 53-year- old barangay tanod, and alias “Era,” 52 years old, both classified as high-value individuals and residents of Molo, Iloilo City. Records showed that both suspects had previous drug-related and illegal firearm cases in 2018 but were released in 2019 through plea bargaining and probation. They were arrested following two weeks of surveillance while allegedly operating in nearby towns of Iloilo City.

Recovered during the operation were eight (8) transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, marked buy-bust money, and several non-drug items.

Police Regional Office 6 chief, POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEFINO D LIGAN commended the operating personnel for the successful operation and emphasized the importance of relentless anti-illegal drug efforts.

“This successful operation prevented a huge volume of illegal drugs from reaching our communities. Had these dangerous substances not been seized, more lives, especially among our youth, could have been destroyed by the harmful effects of illegal drugs. We remain committed to intensifying our campaign to protect the people and ensure safer communities,” PBGEN LIGAN said.

Iloilo City – Three individuals were arrested by elements of Iloilo City Police Office - Police Station 2 following the confiscation of approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price of PhP408,000.00 during a buy-bust operation conducted at about 12:55 AM on May 7, 2026, at Zone 1, Brgy. Baldoza, La Paz, Iloilo City.

The suspects were identified as alias “Dar,” 44 years old, the main target and tagged as a high-value individual; alias “Nimrod,” 41 years old; and alias “Ken,” 32 years old, both tagged as street-level individuals. All are residents of La Paz, Iloilo City.

Investigation disclosed that alias “Dar” and alias “Nimrod” are brothers, while alias “Ken” was identified as one of their drug buyers. Further records revealed that alias “Ken” has an ongoing drug-related case and was previously released on bail. Authorities also learned that the suspects allegedly operated within La Paz, Iloilo City, prompting police operatives to conduct more or less three weeks of surveillance prior to their arrest.

Western Visayas top cop, POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEFINO D LIGAN reminded the public of the destructive effects of illegal drugs and urged everyone to stay away from illegal drug activities.

“Illegal drugs destroy lives, break families, and ruin the future of those involved. We urge everyone to avoid any involvement in illegal drug activities and instead become partners of the police in building safe and peaceful communities,” PBGEN LIGAN said.
