Iloilo City โ After more or less two months of monitoring and surveillance, operatives successfully implemented a search warrant against a high-value drug personality, resulting in the confiscation of more than PhP1.3 million worth of suspected shabu and a firearm.
The search warrant, issued on May 5, 2026 by Branch 39 of the Regional Trial Court in Iloilo City, was served at about 9:52 AM on May 7, 2026, at Zone 3, Brgy. Pali Benedicto, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Arrested was alias โRomar,โ 49 years old, jobless, and a resident of Mandurriao, Iloilo City. Authorities identified the suspect as a high-value individual allegedly operating throughout Iloilo City, particularly in the district of Mandurriao.
Recovered during the operation were thirty (30) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 200 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price of PhP1,360,000.00, one caliber .38 pistol loaded with four live ammunition, four improvised tooters, and other assorted drug paraphernalia.
The operation was conducted by personnel of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 in coordination with Iloilo City Police Office - Police Station 5, Regional Intelligence Division 6, City Intelligence Unit of ICPO, and the Special Weapons and Tactics Team of ICPO.
POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEFINO D LIGAN commended the operating units for the successful operation and reiterated the commitment of the police force in intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs and loose fi****ms.
โThis successful operation reflects the strong commitment of our police personnel in protecting our communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs and criminality. The confiscation of these illegal substances and firearm prevented possible threats to public safety and saved many lives from being destroyed by illegal drugs. We will continue to strengthen our operations to ensure safer communities for everyone,โ PBGEN LIGAN said.
The suspect is now under police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, particularly Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment, Instrument, Apparatus, and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs). Section 11 carries the penalty of life imprisonment and a fine ranging from PhP500,000.00 to PhP10,000,000.00, while Section 12 carries the penalty of imprisonment ranging from six months and one day to four years, and a fine ranging from PhP10,000.00 to PhP50,000.00.
The suspect will also face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
