Akbayan Youth - Cavite Vice Chairperson ay buong pusong nakiisa sa pagdiriwang Ika-28 anibersaryo ng Akbayan Partylist, bilang isang partido na nagtataguyod ng mga karapatan at kapakanan ng mga Pilipino, lalo na ng mga kabataan at mga marginalized na sektor, ang Akbayan ay naging boses ng mga walang boses at nagtulungan upang makamit ang mga adhikain ng pagkakapantay-pantay, katarungan, at demokrasya.

Bilang mga kabataan caviteno, kami ay nakatuon sa mga prinsipyo ng Akbayan at patuloy na magtutulungan upang makamit ang isang lipunang may katarungan at pagkakapantay-pantay. Kami ay mananatiling kritikal at aktibo sa pagtindig para sa mga karapatan ng mga mamamayan at sa pagtutol sa mga abuso at katiwalian.

Nanawagan Buong Akbayan Youth-Cavite,sa Transparency at saan napunta mga na gastos sa 9.8 Million Pesos Multi Purpose Hall sa bacoor Cavite.

Akbayan Youth- Cavite lubos na nababahala sa iniulat na paggastos ng humigit-kumulang ₱9.8 milyon para sa isang multi-purpose hall sa Bacoor, Cavite. Bilang mga mamamayan Caviteno, may karapatan tayong magtanong at maningil ng malinaw na paliwanag kung paano ginamit ang pondo ng bayan, lalo na sa panahong marami pa ring sektor ang kulang sa batayang serbisyo tulad ng edukasyon, kalusugan, at pabahay.

Ang mga ulat at larawang kumakalat sa social media ay nagdulot ng seryosong pagdududa kung ang halaga ng proyekto ay tumutugma sa kalidad, disenyo, at lawak ng istrukturang itinayo.

Ang pondo ng bayan ay hindi personal na pondo ng sinuman. Ito ay mula sa buwis ng mamamayan at nararapat lamang na gamitin nang wasto, tapat, at may malinaw na pananagutan. Patuloy naming ipaglalaban ang karapatan ng mga Caviteño sa isang pamahalaang bukas, tapat, at tunay na naglilingkod.

𝗔𝗸𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘆’𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗔𝗴𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

Akbayan Youth condemned China’s repeated violations of Philippine sovereignty following the Chinese Embassy’s pushback after being called out by Akbayan Sen. Risa Hontiveros.

“Crossing the line? Matagal nang bad guest ang China. What’s crossing the line is China’s militarization and large-scale resource extraction in our exclusive economic zone,” said Khylla Meneses, Akbayan Youth National Chairperson.

“Our sovereignty is not a stage for political games. If this were a play, the real villains are foreign intruders invading our waters, stealing our resources, and putting our environment and fellow Filipinos in grave danger,” she added.

Meneses also warned, “Walang karapatan ang China na magsiga-sigaan sa Pilipinas at bastusin ang mga opisyal nito na pinagtatanggol lang ang soberanya ng bansa. Their recent statement demanding ‘clarification’ is a blatant violation of the Vienna Convention and an attempt to intimidate officials reporting factual violations in Philippine waters.”

Meneses stressed that the Embassy’s demand for explanations should instead be directed at China itself. “The Filipino youth and the international community, deserve answers for the dangerous maneuvers, intentional ramming, water cannon attacks against PCG and BFAR vessels, the harassment of our fishermen, the deployment of hundreds of maritime militia vessels, and the construction of artificial islands, all clear violations of the 2016 UNCLOS Arbitral Award.”

“These are not ‘smears’ or ‘slanders,’” Meneses emphasized. “These are factual accounts backed by official reports and evidence."

Akbayan Youth urged the government to firmly uphold the 2016 UNCLOS ruling and hold foreign actors accountable for violations in Philippine waters.

“True dialogue begins with respect for sovereignty. The Filipino people will continue to defend our West Philippine Sea, peacefully, factually, and without fear,” Meneses concluded. #

𝗟𝗜𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗬, 𝗔𝗞𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗬, & 𝗠𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗜𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝗣𝗛 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟𝗦

The warning by the government of China that Philippine officials must “stop or pay the price” is a reckless escalation that directly threatens the Filipino people.

No state has the authority to threaten officials of another sovereign country for speaking publicly about verified developments within their own maritime domain. Statements made by Philippine personnel regarding incidents in the West Philippine Sea are grounded in documented events, conveyed in the exercise of official duty, and consistent with international law, including the binding 2016 Arbitral Award.

Labeling transparency as 'provocation' is a cynical attempt to fool the international community. Truth-telling does not escalate tensions; China's illegal incursions, aggressive maneuvers, and open threats do.

We call on the DFA to take the necessary diplomatic steps, considering that the issue concerns threats of a foreign embassy on specific government officials. The DFA must lead in defending Filipino citizens and officials who merely assert their rights and perform their duties openly and responsibly in their own country.

Our country should be our safe space. We should not be intimidated, threatened, and targeted in our own home by a guest that uses its privileged diplomatic status as its platform to attack us.

The use of coercive language against a smaller state erodes the norms that underpin regional stability. It signals a willingness to replace dialogue with pressure, and law with leverage. These developments affect not only the Philippines, but all states with an interest in a rules-based international order.

We affirm our support for Philippine civilian and uniformed personnel who continue to carry out their responsibilities with restraint, professionalism, and fidelity to facts. We likewise affirm that the peaceful resolution of disputes requires respect for international law and proper diplomatic channels—not warnings designed to deter lawful speech.

The Philippines will continue to assert its rights openly and responsibly. The preservation of peace in the region depends on it.

Akbayan Youth lauds the Sandiganbayan decision to issue non-bailable arrest warrants against former Senator Ramon “B**g” Revilla Jr. and six former DPWH officials over a ₱92.8-million "ghost" flood control project in Bulacan.

“Hindi na madadaan ni B**g Revilla sa 'Budots' ang Season 2 niya sa kulungan dahil binago na ng mga kabataan ang playlist. Ang himig namin ngayon ay pananagutan,” said Akbayan Youth National Chairperson, Khylla Meneses. “Habang nalulunod ang mga Pilipino sa baha, lumalangoy naman sa nakaw na yaman ang mga dinastiya at kontratista.”

Alongside Revilla, warrants were issued for Brice Hernandez, Jaypee Mendoza, Arjay Domasig, Emelita Juat, Juanito Mendoza, and Christina Pineda.

“Bukas ang dancefloor sa buong 'guest list' ng katiwalian—mga dinastiya at contractor na ninakaw ang kinabukasan naming mga kabataan. Sabay-sabay na kayong tinatawag ng kulungan,” Meneses added.

Meneses emphasized that the arrest is only a starting point, urging Congress to pass the Anti-Political Dynasty Bill and the Party-list Reform Bill to prevent similar abuses.

“Hindi matatapos ang madilim na yugto ng ating kasaysayan kung ang kaban ng bayan ay ginagawang family heirloom. The current system allows dynasties to hijack the party-list system and turn our public works into a breeding ground for corruption,” she said.

“Gawin naman nating bida ang mga mamamayan. We demand the immediate passage of Akbayan’s bills to ban dynasties from the party-list system and prohibit contractors from holding public office. It’s time to uproot the rot. Face the music. Tinatawag na kayo ng kulungan,” Meneses concluded.

Milk is essential, but what really affects young Filipinos are public officials imposing control over young people’s bodies and decisions instead of protecting their welfare, robbing them of opportunities and stunting their potential as Filipino citizens.

A glass full of milk should be served with a full meal, a meal of access to quality education, comprehensive health care, and a future sustained by dignity.

This is the kind of REAL solution young Filipinos deserve. The Responsible and Empowered Adolescents Law (REAL) or House Bill No. 5692, filed by Akbayan Reform Bloc and led by Rep. Perci Cendaña, responds to the alarming rise of teenage pregnancies by empowering adolescents to make informed choices about their reproductive health through comprehensive, community-based, culturally sensitive, and age-appropriate sexuality education.

Pass the Responsible and Empowered Adolescents Law! Let’s give Filipino youth the rights, health services, and opportunities they deserve, not outdated moralism.
