ICYMI • On April 25, 2026, DILG Laguna joined our key partners in celebrating the successful culmination of the Barangay Justice System Program, in collaboration with De La Salle University–Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) and the Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR).

19 out of the 38 graduated of the B-JUST program received intensive training on Katarungang Pambarangay mechanisms to promote accessible, efficient, and community-based justice with the aim of empowering our barangays to become frontliners of peace and conflict resolution.

One of the highlights of the graduation ceremony is an inspiring speech delivered by Hon. Jose Joey Hular, Punong Barangay of Talaga, Municipal Government of Rizal, Laguna, who was recently declared as the Regional Winner of the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards under the 4th Class Municipalities Category.

Thirty-eight (38) incumbent Punong Barangays from Cavite and Laguna graduated from the Barangay Justice System (B-JUST) Program, marking another step toward stronger and more responsive grassroots justice systems.

OIC-Provincial Director Marcial A. Juangco of DILG Cavite represented Regional Director Ariel O. Iglesia, CESO III, and Provincial Director Jay Beltran of DILG Laguna shared that programs such as B-JUST help standardize learning among local leaders, deepen their mastery of alternative dispute resolution, and strengthen their capacity as effective and modern public servants.

This graduation marks the rise of empowered leaders bringing justice closer to communities, proving that when leadership begins at the grassroots, the nation grows stronger.

The DILG Laguna proudly recognizes Barangay Mamatid, City of Cabuyao as 2nd Runner-Up (Component City Category) and Barangay Talaga, Municipality of Rizal as Regional Winner (4th Class Municipality Category) in the 2026 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) Regional Level. Their achievement reflects strong commitment to effective barangay justice and community-based dispute resolution.
The Regional Awards Committee conducted field validation from March 24 to April 15, 2026 to select top-performing Lupong Tagapamayapa across CALABARZON. As Regional Winner, Barangay Talaga will represent the region in the National Level LTIA.

With the aim to choose the best among the pool of twenty-one (21) top-performing lupon in seven (7) income class categories from the Provinces and Highly Urbanized City in CALABARZON Region, the Regional Awards Committee (RAC), composed of DILG IV-A, DOJ IV-A, PNP PRO4A, Liga ng mga Barangay CALABARZON Chapter, React Philippines Torre Group, and Order of the Knights of Rizal, conducted field validation from March 24 – April 15, 2026.
The rank one (1) barangay for each category shall represent CALABARZON in the National Level LTIA where they will compete with other Regional Nominees throughout the country.

TUNGHAYAN I Bukas ay muling sisibol ang diwa ng husay, dedikasyon, at pagkakaisa sa LTIA (Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards) Regional Assessment, para sa Antas ng 4th Class Category, kung saan ang Lalawigan ng Laguna ay buong dangal na kakatawanin ng Barangay Talaga Rizal, Laguna mula sa Municipal Government of Rizal, Laguna.

Ito ay hindi lamang pagtatanghal ng galing, kundi isang buhay na patunay ng ating malasakit, katatagan, at matibay na paninindigan sa makatao, maayos, at epektibong Katarungang Pambarangay.

Closing the Chapter on B-JUST Day 5: Theory Meets Practice! ⚖️🏛️

Today marks the 5th and final day of the Barangay Justice (B-JUST) Program, a landmark collaboration between the Department of Justice - Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR), the Department of Interior and Local Government IV-A (DILG IV-A), and the DLSU-D School of Governance.

The focus today was all about application. Our participants dove into intensive Simulation Workshops and case studies, putting their mediation skills to the test in real-world scenarios like neighborhood boundary disputes and public defamation cases. From the Mediator's Opening Statement to reaching a formal Agreement, our learners demonstrated incredible growth in the stages of conflict resolution.

As we wrapped up with the final Post-Test and received inspiring closing remarks from Director Reinalyne Vidallon-Varias and our very own Dr. Rommel Mazo, the energy was high and the commitment to justice was clear.

Congratulations to all participants! Next stop: Graduation! 🎓✨
