Philippine Army officers and soldiers led by the 80th Infantry (STEADFAST) Battalion participated in the Municipality of Baras’ celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day held at the Municipal Hall of Baras, Rizal on 12 June 2026.

The activity was spearheaded by Mayor Wilfredo C. Robles together with Vice Mayor Kathrine B. Robles, and members of the Sanguniang Bayan as well as the LGU’s employees and stakeholders.

The celebration served as an opportunity to honor the sacrifices and heroism of Filipino patriots who fought for the nation’s freedom while fostering patriotism, unity, and solidarity among government agencies and the local community.

The participation of 80IB and other partner units reaffirmed their commitment to supporting government initiatives and strengthening collaboration with local stakeholders in promoting peace, security, and development in the Municipality of Baras and the Province of Rizal.

LOOK | RIZAL Province Commemorates Independence Day by Reaffirming Insurgency-Free Status

The Recommitment to Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) Ceremony of the Province of Rizal held at the Rizal Provincial Capitol, Antipolo City, Rizal, was the highlight of this year’s Independence Day.

The activity was spearheaded by Hon. Nina Ricci Ynares, Provincial Governor of Rizal, and attended by key government and security sector representatives who reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining peace, security, and development throughout the province.

1LT Emeterio B Putol III (INF) PA attended the activity on behalf 80IB being the Company Commander in Rizal Province.

During the ceremony, COL ALEXANDER M ARBOLADO INF (MNSA) PA, Deputy Commander of the 202nd Infantry (UNIFIER) Brigade; PCOL ELEAZAR R BARBER JR., Provincial Director of the Rizal Police Provincial Office; and LTJG JEFFREY ADORZA, PCG, Deputy Coast Guard Station Rizal, conveyed their support for the government's peace and security initiatives and underscored the importance of a whole-of-nation approach in maintaining lasting peace.

The ceremony concluded with the signing of the Pledge of Commitment, symbolizing the continued support of participating agencies and stakeholders for the peace and security programs and initiatives of the Province of Rizal.

1LT ALMER V MENDOZA (QMS) PA, Acting Logistics Officer, 80th Infantry (Steadfast) Battalion, represented the unit during the celebration of the ika-128 Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas with the theme, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan,” held at the Municipal Hall of Tanay, Brgy. Kay-Buto, Tanay, Rizal on 12 June 2026.

The activity was spearheaded by Hon. Rex Manuel C. Tanjuatco, Municipal Mayor of Tanay, together with members of the Sangguniang Bayan headed by Hon. Ruel P. Estrella, Vice Mayor. Also in attendance were Hon. Emigdio P. Tanjuatco, Representative of the 2nd District of Rizal, along with representatives from the PNP, BFP, BJMP, and other local government offices.

The celebration paid tribute to the sacrifices and heroism of Filipino patriots who fought for the country's freedom and independence. It also served as an opportunity to strengthen patriotism, unity, and cooperation among government agencies and stakeholders in advancing peace, security, and development in the municipality.

LOOK | 80IB TROOPS STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP THROUGH BRIGADA ESKWELA 2026

The troops of the 80th Infantry (STEADFAST) Battalion actively participated in the conduct of Brigada Eskwela 2026 with the theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” in the Province of Rizal and the northern part of Quezon Province.

As part of the initiative, personnel of the Battalion rendered volunteer services in support of the Department of Education’s annual school maintenance program. The troops assisted in the cleaning, repair, rehabilitation, and beautification of school facilities to help ensure a safe, orderly, and learner-friendly environment for students and teachers in preparation for the opening of classes.
The activity demonstrated the strong partnership among the Philippine Army, the Department of Education, local government units, and community stakeholders in advancing quality education and promoting shared responsibility for the welfare of the youth. It also served as an avenue for the soldiers to strengthen their engagement with local communities through meaningful and service-oriented activities.

Through its active participation in Brigada Eskwela 2026, the 80th Infantry (STEADFAST) Battalion reaffirmed its commitment to supporting government programs that contribute to community development, nation-building, and the promotion of a culture of volunteerism and bayanihan.

The 80th Infantry (STEADFAST) Battalion remains dedicated to fostering stronger partnerships with educational institutions and other stakeholders in support of peace, progress, and sustainable development in the Province of Rizal and the northern part of Quezon Province.

LOOK | TANAY YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT 2026 SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED, EMPOWERING 130 FUTURE LEADERS OF TANAY

The Tanay Youth Leadership Summit 2026 was successfully conducted from 29 to 31 May 2026 with the theme, “Leadership in the Wild: Surviving Challenges, Leading Change,” bringing together 130 youth participants from the Municipality of Tanay, Rizal.

The activity was conducted through the collaborative efforts of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tanay under the leadership of Hon. Rex Manuel Tanjuatco and the 80th Infantry (STEADFAST) Battalion under the leadership of Lt. Col. Marco Antonio A. Magisa, Inf (GSC) PA.

Lt. Col. Magisa formally opened the summit and welcomed the participants, highlighting the importance of leadership, resilience, and character development among the youth as future leaders of their communities.

Throughout the three-day activity, the participants engaged in various leadership development sessions, team-building exercises, and experiential learning activities designed to test their capabilities, strengthen their decision-making skills, and enhance their ability to work effectively with others. The summit provided a challenging yet meaningful environment where the youth were encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, overcome obstacles, and develop confidence in their leadership potential.

The activity served as a valuable platform for the participants to learn essential leadership principles and life skills that will help prepare them for future responsibilities and challenges. It also fostered camaraderie, discipline, teamwork, and a deeper sense of civic responsibility among the youth.

The successful conduct of the Tanay Youth Leadership Summit 2026 demonstrated the strong partnership between the Local Government Unit of Tanay and the 80th Infantry (STEADFAST) Battalion in empowering the younger generation through programs that promote leadership excellence, personal growth, and community engagement.

Through this initiative, the participating organizations reaffirmed their commitment to developing capable, responsible, and service-oriented young leaders who will contribute to the continued progress, peace, and development of the Municipality of Tanay and the Province of Rizal
