SOLO Parents' Advocacy Forum - National Council for Solo Parents

Information dissemination by educating solo parents on the pertinent provisions of RA 8972 (Solo Parents’ Welfare Act of 2000) including existing and proposed ordinances within the locality as well as around the country;

2. Organize solo parent groups in the barangay level to make them more functional and effective to ensure that they become duly recognized by authorities and government agencies;

3. Assist legitimate solo parents in securing the necessary accreditation such as the Solo Parent ID to allow them to claim their rightful benefits under the law;

4. Help in the creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities to minimize the dependence of solo parents to dole outs from politicians and other government officials or agencies;

5. Coordinate with the necessary government agencies on how to ensure that the rights of solo parents and their children can be efficiently protected as well as guarantee the delivery of the services due to them;

6. Provide valuable inputs to the legislative and executive branches of government on how to effectively respond to the needs of solo parents based on their actual state of being; and

7. Create a dynamic database of solo parents within the country that can be used for data profiling, information gathering, and other important support activities that will further the cause of solo parents.
