EARTHQUAKE ALERT: Update as of 8:33 AM, Information No. 2, the magnitude 7.0 earthquake previously reported in General Santos has been updated, with 7.8 magnitude and the epicenter now located in Maasim, Sarangani. The quake struck at 7:37 AM on Monday, according to PHIVOLCS.

β€œDOMENG” MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH WHILE MOVING WEST NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA.

Location of Center (4:00 PM): The center of Tropical Storm DOMENG was estimated based on all available data at 1,120 km East of Central Luzon (16.0Β°N, 132.6Β°E).

Intensity: Maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 105 km/h, and central pressure of 994 hPa

Present Movement: West Northwestward at 10 km/h

Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds: Strong to gale-force winds extend outwards up to 440 km from the center

β€’ Tropical Storm DOMENG will continue moving generally northwestward until Sunday (31 May) before recurving towards southern Japan for the remaining forecast period. This tropical cyclone is less likely to make landfall over the country. DOMENG will likely exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Monday (01 June).
β€’ DOMENG will continue to intensify and may reach typhoon category tomorrow (30 May) evening or Sunday early morning while remaining over the Philippine Sea. Afterwards, it will steadily weaken.

Base sa datos ng iRISE-UP, umabot na sa 45Β°C ang average heat index as of 10:15AM ngayong araw, May 29, 2026.

Ayon sa QCDRRMO, nagiging mapanganib ang heat index sa ating katawan kapag pumalo na sa 42Β°C pataas. Mas tumataas din ang panganib ng pagkakaroon ng heat-related illnesses gaya ng heat cramps, heat exhaustion, at heat stroke.

Pinakaapektado sa heat-related illnesses ang mga sanggol, bata, senior citizens, mga taong may iniindang sakit (heart disease, diabetes, obesity), mga nagtatrabaho sa labas (street vendors, construction workers, delivery riders), at mga nasa lugar na kulang sa bentilasyon.

Kaya QCitizens, huwag kalimutang uminom ng sapat na tubig, iwasan ang labis na exposure sa araw, at agad humingi ng tulong sakaling makaranas ng sintomas ng heat-related illnesses.

The center of Tropical Storm DOMENG was estimated based on all available data at 1,265 km East of Southeastern Luzon (15.7Β°N, 133.4Β°E).
