The Adjutant General's Service was organized on 21 November 1935 under the Army Headquarters (Fore-runner of General Headquarters). The Office of The Adjutant General (OTAG) is a Special Staff of the CSAFP (Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines) and shall be under the functional supervision of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, (J1) to ensure that the duties, tasks an

d requirements of the office are accomplished and properly implemented. The Adjutant General shall exercise technical supervision over the Command Adjutant of the Major Services, the AFP-Wide Service Support Units, and Unified Commands.
