LIKHA Our stitching dreams.. Transforming the dump site into a town full of future. Likha is composed of 15 women who live in Payatas.

Likha Pangkangbuhayan is a livelihood program under a Japanese based NGO, Salt Payatas Foundation. Payatas is an infamous barangay (town) right besides the huge garbage mountain. All the garbage from Quezon City and San Juan goes to the garbage mountain there everyday. Some of the members in Likha used to work as scavengers in the mountain. Likha was founded to overcome difficult circumstance.

Looking at these photos from over two decades of Likha Pangkabuhayan reminds us of all the incredible mothers who built this community step-by-step. Some have been with us from the very start, and some have moved on, but every mother’s contribution continues to live on in our work today. 💖
