CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—On February 2, 2026, the Office of The Inspector General, Armed Forces of the Philippines (OTIG, AFP) and Office of the Sergeant Major, AFP (OSMAFP) shared their transformation story, as they aim for their first Recertified Status in the AFP Transformation Roadmap Institutionalization Pathway (AFPTRIP). The Revalida Panel is chaired by LTGEN ROMMEL P ROLDAN PAF, The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP and vice-chaired by BGEN JESSIE A BANASTAO PAF, Chief of the Office for Strategic Studies and Strategy Management.
BGEN ANTERO S NARCISE PN(M), Deputy Inspector General, proudly presented their office breakthrough results with governance best practices, guided by The Inspector General’s code that is anchored on the principles of credibility, objectivity, impartiality, relevance, professional competence, and authority, confidentiality, and secrecy. “Strengthening OTIG is not merely an organizational necessity – it is a strategic imperative in building a disciplined, transparent, and transformed Armed Forces of the Philippines," he said.
CMS Anthony K Abellera PA, Assistant Sergeant Major, AFP, highlighted their scorecard accomplishments and breakthrough results, contributing to their office functions in formulating plans, programs, and policies on military professionalism, enhancement of morale and welfare, and discipline of AFP Enlisted Personnel (EP). Moving forward, the OSMAFP will enhance advocacy activities to capacitate EP awareness and resilience in support of the transition from internal security operations to territorial defense operations.
The two offices are set to be conferred with the Recertified Status in the first quarter of this year. Recertified Status is awarded to the AFP Program for 4 units and offices characterized by the continuity of systems, processes, and mechanisms, and the attainment of breakthrough results.
