𝐀𝐓𝐌: From Pagoda to Preparedness: GeoRiskPH Empowers Malabon to Navigate Risks & Disaster Preparedness

The GeoRiskPH Training is currently underway in Malabon City, bringing together 17 participants from various city offices to enhance their knowledge and skills in utilizing geospatial information, hazard assessments, and risk data for informed decision-making and disaster risk reduction.

The activity was graced by Mr. Roderick D. Tongol, CDRRMO Head, who delivered the welcome remarks. In his message, he expressed the city's gratitude for being given the opportunity to participate in the training, emphasizing that the knowledge and tools gained from GeoRiskPH will be valuable resources that the city can utilize to further strengthen its disaster preparedness, planning, and resilience efforts.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: GeoRiskPH for Resilience Regional Training Workshop – Batch 6

A total of 109 participants attended the training conducted in Zamboanga City, with representatives from Region IX and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The activity was also joined by representatives from national government agencies, including the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government, as well as four Local Resource Institutes (LRIs).

The closing program was led by Ms. Mabelline T. Cahulogan, who delivered the closing remarks and congratulated the participants for successfully completing the training.

As part of the training outputs, participants presented their Re-entry Action Plans, highlighting how they plan to integrate the GeoRiskPH applications into their respective workflows and local initiatives. They also shared their short-term and long-term goals in applying the knowledge and skills gained from the training to strengthen disaster preparedness and risk reduction efforts in their communities.

𝐀𝐓𝐌: GeoRiskPH for Resilience Regional Training Workshop – Batch 6

The two-day training workshop is currently underway at the Garden Orchid Hotel and Resort in Zamboanga City. The activity is organized in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) through the Disaster Risk Reduction Enhancement at the Local Level – Technical Assistance Project (DRREALL-TA).

A total of 109 participants are attending the workshop, representing 52 Local Government Units (LGUs) from BARMM and Region IX, along with 4 Local Resource Institutes (LRIs), 2 National Government Agencies (NGAs), and 4 Provincial Local Government Units (PLGUs). Participants are from Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (DRRMOs) and Planning and Development Offices (PDOs).

Ms. Camille Adle of Expertise France delivered a lecture on the Disaster Risk Management Framework and its key aspects. Ms. Mabelline T. Cahulogan of DOST-PHIVOLCS facilitated the session on Earthquake and Volcanic Hazards, while Mr. El-Jedidiah O. Villacampa of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region IX discussed Flooding and Landslide Hazards. Lastly, Mr. Rodel L. Inclan of DOST-PAGASA shared insights on Weather and Climate Hazards.

Together, we continue strengthening local capacities toward a safer, more resilient, and more informed future.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: A total of 59 participants from 16 local government units (LGUs) across Oriental Mindoro, together with representatives from the PDRRMO Oriental Mindoro and regional and provincial offices of DOST, successfully completed the training program.

As part of the hands-on activities, participants conducted a mini fieldwork exercise wherein they digitized building footprints using the GeoMapperPH Mobile Application. They also had lecture and hands-on sessions on GeoAnalyticsPH and HazardHunterPH. On the second day of the training, participants developed their respective Re-Entry Action Plans to identify and assess how they can apply the knowledge and skills gained from the training within their respective offices and localities.

The activity concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Jesse M. Pine, Provincial S&T Director, PSTO Oriental Mindoro, and Mr. Vinscent B. Gahol, PGDH, PDRRMO Oriental Mindoro, who emphasized the importance of sustaining the application of GeoRiskPH tools in local planning and disaster risk reduction efforts. They encouraged the participants to maximize the use of GeoMapperPH and other GeoRiskPH applications in their respective offices to strengthen data-driven decision-making and enhance local resilience initiatives.

Ang pagiging "nanay" ay hindi nasusukat sa dugo o titulo, kundi sa sakripisyo, malasakit, at walang kapantay na pagmamahal na araw-araw mong pinapakita. Motherhood is never easy but you carry it with so much strength and grace.

1. Buksan ang browser at pumunta sa hazardhunter.georisk.gov.ph
2. I-click ang “Go to Map View” para makita ang main interface. Hanapin ang lugar na nais mong i-check, pwedeng gumamit ng location, gamit ang current location, o gumamit ng coordinates.
3. Sa dashboard, i-click ang “Volcano” sa ilalim ng Monitoring.
4. I-click ang navigation button para mapunta sa Volcano Alert Status page.
