The Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), through its Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP) Program and in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office’s (DA-RFO) Regulatory Division, successfully conducted a comprehensive farm audit inspection for the initial GAHP Certification of participating farms.
The activity was undertaken to evaluate and ensure compliance with the national standards on Good Animal Husbandry Practices, reinforcing the government’s commitment to safe, quality, and sustainable livestock and poultry production in the country. The assessment focused on the farms’ adherence to the established Philippine National Standards (PNS/BAFS) covering broiler production, layer production, swine production, dairy cattle farming, and water buffalo production. These standards encompass critical areas such as animal health and welfare, farm sanitation and biosecurity, environmental management, proper feeding practices, record-keeping, and food safety measures.
