A government owned and controlled corporation attached to the Department of Agriculture, created to promote the development of the fishing industry through the provision of post-harvest infrastructure facilities and essential services that improve efficiency in the handling and distribution of fish and fishery products and enhance their quality. The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority endeavors to achieve these objectives:

Promote the development of the fisheries industry and improve efficiency in the handling and distribution of fish and fishery/aquatic products through the establishment and operation of fish ports, fish markets, and other post-harvest facilities; and. Provide essential fisheries-related post-harvest services that would improve the quality of fish products that could compete in the global market. Performance Pledge

Provide you prompt and efficient service from Mondays to Fridays starting at 8:00 a.m. at our Central Office and 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at our Regional Offices. Field in qualified and authorized personnel to attend to your requests even during lunch and snack time. Deal with your complaints, comments and suggestions expeditiously and make available corresponding remedies if necessary. Abide by the rules, regulations and service standards, with proper explanations for any delinquency in frontline services.

| There is a quiet beauty in the lights that glow after the day's work is done. Each completed facility may appear as a single point of brightness. Yet, when viewed together, these individual improvements reveal a larger picture defined by resilience, connectivity, and progress.

As of June 2026, infrastructure development continues to gain momentum across PFDA's Regional Fish Ports. The Expansion and Improvement of the PFDA- General Santos Fish Port Complex, with Packages 1 and 2 collectively reaching 61.34% completion, recorded the largest quarterly increase in physical accomplishment. This reflects sustained construction momentum and continued investment in modern post-harvest infrastructure.

As the second quarter of 2026 concludes, every improvement brings the country closer to a more resilient and interconnected network of Regional Fish Ports.

| Volume of Fisheries Production by subsector for Q1 2026 🎣🇵🇭

According to the Fisheries Situation Report prepared by the Philippine Statistics Authority, the Philippines recorded the 856,291.91 metric tons (MT) for the production of Total Volume of Production in Fisheries for the 1st Quarter of 2026.

Leading the pack was the aquaculture subsector which constituted the biggest share to the total fisheries production with 432,755 09 MT, which is 50.5 percent of the total.

Coming in second is the commercial fisheries subsector with 205,234.50 MT. This is approximately 24.0 percent of the total volume.

This is followed by the marine municipal fisheries subsector with 168,022.38 MT, equivalent to 19.6 percent share to the total volume.

Last is the inland municipal fisheries subsector with 50,279.95 MT, which is 5.9 percent of the total fisheries production.

From fish farms and inland waters to our municipal and commercial fishing grounds, every subsector helps keep the country’s fisheries industry moving. Behind every figure are the hardworking Filipinos who help bring fish from our waters to Filipino tables.

LOOK: THE 2ND QUARTER 2026 ISSUE OF THE PFDA REVIEW IS OUT NOW!

The cover of the PFDA Review Volume 7, Issue No. 2 (April to June 2026) brings you right into the bustling heart of the PFDA- General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSFPC) during the peak of fish unloading operations. Front and center, fish port workers lean into their craft, carefully cleaning gills of massive tuna freshly harvested from the deep seas.

There is a captivating, rhythmic beauty to this moment. It is a striking tribute to the hardworking hands that power the country’s tuna capital and this moment reminds us of the rich bounty our seas provide and the passion that brings it safely to our tables every single day.

Recently, the General Santos City and the rest of SOCCSKSARGEN weather strong earthquakes that shook the region, testing both structure and spirit. Yet, if you look closely at this cover, you will not see a community defeated by circumstance, but you will see people who simply know how to rise above it. Calamities may ripple through our shores, but the sheer optimism and determination of the people of PFDAGSFPC remain completely unshaken. This is a vivid reminder that even when the ground moves beneath us, our collective resolve holds firm.

Poblacion, San Vicente, Palawan noong Setyembre 9, 2026, bilang bahagi ng mga hakbang upang palakasin ang fisheries infrastructure at mga pasilidad na nagsisilbi sa lokal na fisheries sector.

Dinaluhan ang seremonya ng mga kinatawan ng PFDA at ng Lokal na Pamahalaang Bayan ng San Vicente, Palawan, bilang bahagi ng sama-samang hakbang tungo sa pagpapaunlad ng fisheries infrastructure sa munisipalidad.

Inaasahang magbibigay ang modernong fish port ng mas maayos at sistematikong pasilidad para sa mga aktibidad na may kaugnayan sa pagdaong, pag-landing, paghawak, at pagdadala ng mga produktong pampangisdaan. Layunin ng programa na palakasin ang leadership capabilities ng mga kawani sa pamamagitan ng coaching at mentoring, habang isinusulong ang succession planning bilang mahalagang bahagi ng strategic human resource management ng PFDA. Pinangunahan ng PFDA at ng General Luna LGU ang paglagda sa kasunduan, na naglalayong isulong ang pagtatayo ng isang sentralisado, moderno, malinis, at episyenteng pasilidad para sa pagdaong, paghawak, at pangangalakal ng mga produktong pangisdaan sa Siargao Island.

Inaasahang tutugon ang itatayong Siargao Island Modern Fish Port sa mga kakulangan sa fisheries infrastructure sa lugar sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng sentralisado, moderno, malinis, at episyenteng pasilidad para sa landing, handling, at trading ng mga produktong pampangisdaan.

The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) has received its Certificate of Registration and Seal of Registration from the National Privacy Commission (NPC), marking a significant milestone in the Authority’s commitment to upholding data privacy and protecting personal information.

The NPC Certificate and Seal of Registration signify the PFDA’s compliance with the registration requirements under Republic Act No. 10173, or the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and its implementing rules and regulations.

The NPC Seal of Registration serves as a visible indication of an organization’s compliance with the Commission’s registration requirements and provides assurance to data subjects that their privacy rights are recognized and protected.

The achievement reinforces the PFDA’s commitment to responsible and secure processing of personal information and to strengthening its data privacy and protection practices across the organization.
