The Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reserve Force Development, OJ9, assists and advises the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in formulating plans and policies and all other matters pertaining to the administration, development, organization, training, maintenance, and utilization of the reserve manpower including retired/veteran members of the AFP. The Reserve Force co

mponent of the AFP is composed of able-bodied Citizen Soldiers also known as Reservists. The incumbent Deputy Chief of Staff for Reserve Force Development, J9 is MAJOR GENERAL GEROLD N GAGAN PAF.
