🌧️SAFETY TIPS DURING TROPICAL CYCLONE 🌧️

The Health Surveillance and Surveillance and Epidemiology Unit remind everyone to be

Severe Tropical Storm “OPONG” continues to approach in the Philippine Area of Responsibility, it's important to keep these safety tips in mind to help you stay safe during this Tropical Cyclone

🚨Before

Be Aware:

✅Monitor local news and weather reports for updates on the storm's path and intensity.
✅Know Early warning and Evacuation plan of the community
✅Check the Integrity of your house and repair weak parts
✅Prepare your Family’s Go Bag containing Items need for survival
✅Put livestock and pets in safe area or designated evacuation sites for animals
✅When notified, immediately go to the designated evacuation center.

⚠️⛈️During

Stay Safe:

✅Stay Calm, Stay indoors and tune in for latest news and weather updates
✅Turn off main electrical switch and water valve
✅Use flashlight or emergency lamp be cautious in using candles and gas lamps
✅Stay away from glass windows.

‼️After:

Stay Alert:

✅ Wait for the authorities to declare that is safe to return home
✅Stay away from fallen trees, damage structures and power-lines
✅Do not go sightseeing as you may hinder the work of the emergency services
✅Be cautious in checking and repairing the damage parts of your house
✅Check for wet or submerged electrical outlets and appliances before turning on electricity
✅Throw away rainwater in cans, pots and tires to prevent breeding of mosquitos

| Dahil sa inaasahang masamang lagay ng panahon dulot ng Bagyong , inirerekomenda ng Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO) ang suspensyon ng face-to-face classes sa lahat ng antas ng mga pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa Quezon City bukas, September 26, 2025 (Biyernes).

Ipatutupad ang Alternative Delivery Modes of Learning (Synchronous / Asynchronous) upang masiguro ang patuloy na pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral.

Pinapayuhan ang lahat na mag-ingat at manatili sa inyong tahanan kung kinakailangan para sa inyong kaligtasan.

📢 Health Surveillance and Epidemiology Unit Health Advisory

National Adolescent Immunization Month

The Health Surveillance and Epidemiology Unit (HSEU) enjoins all military personnel and their dependents to take part in the observance of National Adolescent Immunization Month this August.

💉 Why adolescent immunization matters:
Protects teens from vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis B, and HPV.

Provides a chance to catch up on missed childhood vaccines.

Reinforces immunity as earlier vaccines wane over time.

Safeguards the health of our military families and strengthens force readiness.

✅ Action:
Military dependents may avail adolescent vaccines through the Pediatric Clinic at Victoriano Luna General Hospital (VLGH).

We also encourage families to seek vaccination services at their Local Health Centers and facilities near their homes.

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a serious public health threat, but it is preventable, treatable, and curable.
Military personnel and their dependents are encouraged to take an active role in TB prevention and control.

✅ Remember the Basics:
Practice proper cough etiquette 🤧
Wear a facemask when ill 😷
Seek early consultation if you have cough, fever, weight loss, or night sweats 🏥

By protecting yourself, you also protect your unit, your family, and the mission. Together, let us build a TB-free community.

🚨 DOH NAGPAALALA SA KAHALAGAHAN NG PAGHUGAS NG KAMAY SA EVACUATION CENTER 🚨

Umabot na sa 29,814 ang bilang ng mga evacuees sa mga rehiyon ng I, II, III, MIMAROPA, V , VI, VII, IX, at CAR na naapektuhan ng ayon sa DOH Health Emergency Alert Reporting System (as of July 19, 2025).

Dahil dito, nagpapaala ang DOH sa kahalagahan ng pagpapanatili ng kalinisan sa katawan lalo na sa evacuation centers.

Madaling kumalat ang mga sakit sa evacuation centers dahil marami ang tao sa iisang lugar.

Basahin ang larawan para manatiling ligtas laban sa mga sakit, nasaan man kayo ngayong maulan.

🚨DOH: PANATILIHING LIGTAS SA KONTAMINASYON ANG INUMING TUBIG LALO NA NGAYONG MAULAN🚨

Sa panahon ng matinding pag-ulan, posibleng may kontaminasyon ang inuming tubig mula sa mga nasirang water at sewage pipes na nalubog sa baha.

Mahalagang tiyaking safe ang iniinom na tubig sa bahay man o sa evacuation center upang makaiwas sa sakit tulad ng cholera, diarrhea, at leptospirosis.

Ayon sa DOH Health Emergency Alert Reporting System, umabot sa 28,114 ang bilang ng mga evacuees sa 370 evacuation centers sa mga rehiyon ng‭ NCR,‬‭ I,‬‭ II,‬‭ III,‬‭ CALABARZON,‬‭ MIMAROPA,‬‭ V,‬‭ VI,‬‭ VII,‬‭ VIII,‬ IX,‬‭ X,‬‭ XI,‬‭ XII,‬‭ Caraga‬‭ at‬‭ CAR dahil sa Bagyong Crising at Southwest Monsoon. Kaya nakahanda na ang mga chlorine tablets bilang isa sa mga emergency commodities ng DOH para may malinis na inuming tubig ang mga lumikas.

Maaari ring pakuluan ang tubig sa loob ng 2 minuto bago inumin bukod sa paggamit ng chlorine tablets.
