The Peoples Development Institute (PDI) invites community members and partners to join the Environmental Justice activity on August 19–20, 2026.

The activity will focus on community experiences and environmental concerns, including the protection of land, forests, water, and the rights of Indigenous communities.

The 2nd Paralegal Training was successfully held on July 30 and 31 organized by the People’s Development Institute (PDI) and the UP Institute of Human Rights (UP IHR). ⚖️✊

​The two-day intensive training focused on mastering essential legal tools—specifically the core principles of drafting Affidavits (Sinumpaang Salaysay) to formally document violations, and crafting Organizational Resolutions (Resolusyon) to unify and record collective actions addressing their respective community struggles.
​The workshop gathered dedicated People’s Organization (PO) Leaders from grassroots sectors facing critical threats to their lands and livelihoods:

​🌊 Fisherfolks from the West Philippine Sea documenting maritime threats and asserting traditional fishing rights

​🏹 Ayta leaders and farmers from Botolan, Zambales opposing the destructive impacts of the proposed Mega Dam on their ancestral domain

​🌾 Igorot Farmers from Nueva Ecija resisting the Cancellation of Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) to protect their land tenure

​🌾 Bulacan farmers asserting agrarian reform rights and standing firm against land conversions and displacement

​Equipped with proper legal skills, these leaders can now convert their lived struggles into formal legal instruments, preserve crucial evidence, and issue official resolutions to demand justice for their sectors.
