As we conclude our observance of 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the Educational Benefit System Office, AFP reflects on the voices and stories shared through our #𝓙𝓾𝓪𝓷𝓪𝓢𝓪𝔂 and #𝓙𝓾𝓪𝓷𝓢𝓪𝔂 series, stories that highlight the strength, dedication, and invaluable contributions of the women who shape our community and inspire our mission.

In this spirit, our Chief joins the conversation. Through #𝓙𝓾𝓪𝓷𝓢𝓪𝔂 , 𝗖𝗢𝗟 𝗠𝗘𝗟𝗩𝗜𝗡 𝗔 𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗨𝗔 𝗣𝗔𝗙 (𝗚𝗦𝗖) shares his message of unity and collective responsibility in advancing gender equality and building a more inclusive AFP.

He shares:

“As we celebrate National Women’s Month 2026, I am reminded that the word ‘WE’ in this year’s theme, WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society, is more than just a slogan. It reflects how we move forward, together.

At EBSO, we see the strength of women every single day. We see it in our female personnel who carry out their duties with professionalism and quiet determination. We see it in the mothers of our grantees and in the wives of our fallen soldiers, women who continue to stand firm for their families despite loss and uncertainty. Their resilience humbles us. Their courage strengthens our resolve to serve better.

Gender equality is not achieved through words alone. It is lived through the way we treat one another, the opportunities we open, and the respect we show in our workplace. As part of our commitment under the AFP Transformation Roadmap, we will continue striving for excellence in service while building an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

This Women’s Month, let us renew our shared commitment to uplift one another. When we stand together, we create not only a stronger organization, but a more compassionate and inclusive community.

In celebration of 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏’𝒔 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉, Educational Benefit System Office, AFP (EBSO, AFP), under the leadership of 𝐂𝐎𝐋 𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐕𝐈𝐍 𝐀 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐀 𝐏𝐀𝐅 (𝐆𝐒𝐂), conducted a meaningful Gender and Development (GAD) seminar on 18 March 2026. The session centered on strengthening our understanding of legislative advocacy for women’s empowerment.

EBSO personnel are honored to learn from 𝐌𝐀𝐉 𝐑𝐇𝐄𝐀 𝐆 𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐂 𝐏𝐀𝐅, Chief of Investigation and Intelligence Division, OTPMG, AFP, whose insightful discussion shed light on key laws that protect and uplift women, including the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313) and the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 (RA 7877). Her message was a powerful reminder of the role each of us plays in fostering respect, equality, and safe spaces in our communities.

More than just an activity, this gathering sparked a deeper sense of purpose among EBSO personnel, to become advocates of gender equality and to carry these principles into our daily work and lives.

As we continue this monthlong celebration, we are reminded that our mission of “Leaving No Soldier’s Orphan Behind” is rooted in compassion, service, and hope. Every step we take, every opportunity we provide, is a tribute to the sacrifices of our heroes and a promise to their families for a better tomorrow.

Together, let us keep lifting each other up, empowering one another, and honoring the incredible women who inspire change within the Armed Forces of the Philippines and beyond.

In celebration of 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the Educational Benefit System Office, AFP continues to highlight the voices of the men and women who champion gender equality and inclusive service through #𝓙𝓾𝓪𝓷𝓢𝓪𝔂.

Today, TSg Jayson C Lozano PA, Finance Branch NCO and GAD NCO, shares his reflection on inclusion, responsibility, and the everyday work of building a gender‑fair institution.

He shares:
“National Women’s Month always gives us a chance to pause and reflect, but this year’s theme, WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society, feels especially meaningful. It reminds us that gender equality is not the work of one office or one sector. It is something we build together, through everyday actions and conscious choices.

As GAD NCO of EBSO, I see how policies and programs can either open doors or unintentionally create barriers. That is why our work goes beyond compliance. It is about making sure our systems are fair, our processes are responsive, and our workplace culture reflects dignity and respect for all.

I hold deep respect for the families behind our grantees, the mother, guardians, and caregivers who carry responsibilities that would overwhelm most of us, yet continue to show up with strength and hope. Their determination reminds us why inclusion matters, not just in principle, but in practice.

This Women’s Month, may we continue to listen, to learn, and to stand as partners in building an institution that truly reflects equality. When we embrace the spirit of “WE,” we create space for every voice to be heard and every person to thrive.”
