The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board - RFRO VII intensified its daily inspection operations on August 12, 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant public transportation services across Central Visayas.

These inspections are aimed at ensuring that Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) meet roadworthiness standards, are mechanically fit for travel, and strictly adhere to existing transport laws, rules, and regulationsโ€”keeping the safety of the riding public a top priority.

Under the leadership of Regional Director Abosamen H. Matuan, M.Sc., LTFRB Region VII continues to intensify monitoring and enforcement activities to promote responsible public transport operations and protect the riding public.

โ€œAs emphasized by the LTFRB leadership, this initiative is anchored on ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers, as well as strict compliance with transport regulations. The agency will continue to perform its mandate and expects full cooperation from all PUV operators, as this remains their primary duty as franchise holders,โ€ the Regional Director stated.

The LTFRB XI, under the leadership of Regional Director, Nonito A. Llanos III, continues to advance public transport modernization with the launch of modernized public utility vehicle (MPUV) units in Kiblawan with no less than Municipal Mayor Car Jason R. Rama for the proposed rationalized route Digos City to Balasiao, Kiblawan. Together with DIPATRANSCO and MAKIBAMAG Transport Cooperative, the ceremony was held at the Kiblawan Municipal Hall on August 10, during the Bida Access activity.

The launching of the four modernized PUJs forms part of the initiative of the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur thru Gov. Yvonne Roรฑa Cagas, to conduct a simulation exercise for the gathering of technical data on the rationalization of the Intra-Provincial route: Digos Cityโ€“Balasiao, Kiblawan, in support of the ongoing revision of the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP) of the Province of Davao del Sur. The modernized PUJs will operate temporarily during the two-week simulation period, which commenced on August 10. Supporting data gathered through this activity will be used in the revision of the LPTRP of Davao del Sur.

LTFRB XI Chief Transportation Development Officer Atty. Ernest Benz S. Davila with LTFRB XI PTMP Head Engr. Mark Renz C. Baldevieso, together with Mr. Sugar Ray Luayon, Davao del Sur Provincial Planning Officer III, led the turnover of the Special Permit to Richard S. Salomon of DIPATRANSCO and Ronie C. Lim of MAKIBAMAG Transport Cooperative.
Also present during the turnover were Kiblawan Vice Mayor Hon. Joel G. Calma, members of the 16th Municipal Council, LTFRB XI PTMP team members Arc. Edrian Reyno and Engr. Kate Dianne Delideli.

In line with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., through DOTr Secretary Atty. Giovanni Z. Lopez and LTFRB Chairman Atty. Vigor D. LTFRB Region VII provided technical assistance to the Province of Bohol in connection with the preparation and development of its Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP).

The activity served as an opportunity for LTFRB Region VII and the Provincial Government of Bohol to discuss transport planning concerns, provide technical guidance, and work toward the development of a responsive and efficient local public transportation system.

Through continued coordination and technical support, LTFRB Region VII remains committed to assisting local government units in strengthening their transport planning initiatives and ensuring that proposed routes and services are responsive to the mobility needs of their communities.

Today, August 11, 2026, LTFRB Region VII conducted the distribution of Fuel Subsidy assistance to qualified Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) and Public Utility Bus (PUB) beneficiaries in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
The payout provided qualified beneficiaries in Bohol with an opportunity to receive the assistance intended to help support public transport operators and drivers amid continuing fuel-related challenges.

LTFRB Region VII personnel were on-site to assist beneficiaries, facilitate the distribution process, and help ensure an orderly and efficient payout.
Under the leadership of Regional Director Abosamen H. Matuan, M.Sc., LTFRB Region VII continues to implement programs that provide timely assistance and responsive public service to the transport sector across Central Visayas.

Layunin ng aktibidad na matiyak na ang mga pampublikong sasakyang bumibiyahe sa kalsada ay ligtas, nasa maayos na kondisyon, at may kaukulang awtorisasyon at dokumento para makapag-operate.
