The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board - RFRO VII intensified its daily inspection operations on August 12, 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant public transportation services across Central Visayas.
These inspections are aimed at ensuring that Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) meet roadworthiness standards, are mechanically fit for travel, and strictly adhere to existing transport laws, rules, and regulationsโkeeping the safety of the riding public a top priority.
Under the leadership of Regional Director Abosamen H. Matuan, M.Sc., LTFRB Region VII continues to intensify monitoring and enforcement activities to promote responsible public transport operations and protect the riding public.
โAs emphasized by the LTFRB leadership, this initiative is anchored on ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers, as well as strict compliance with transport regulations. The agency will continue to perform its mandate and expects full cooperation from all PUV operators, as this remains their primary duty as franchise holders,โ the Regional Director stated.
Pursuant to the directives of Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., through Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez, and LTFRB Chairman Vigor D. Mendoza II, LTFRB Region VII remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring road safety and promoting a disciplined, efficient, and people-centered public transport system.
