IN PHOTOS | A historic milestone of devotion unfolded as the Diocese of Cubao celebrated the Solemn Episcopal Coronation of Our Lady of the Most Sacred Heart. Presided over by the Most Reverend Elias L. Ayuban Jr., CMF, DD, JCD, Bishop of Cubao, the solemn Eucharistic celebration took place at the Most Holy Redeemer ParishโBrixton Hill, Santol, Quezon City, on May 31, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
Prior to the coronation, the Petition to the Bishop was presented by MHRP Urban Poor Ministry Coordinator Sis. Susan Jose, who testified to the historical and personal impact of Our Lady's maternal help. In response, Diocese of Cubao Chancellor Rev. Fr. Julius Callanga solemnly read the official coronation decree to the assembly, which bore the scriptural theme "Universi qui sperant in te non confundentur" (All who hope in you will never be disappointed). Following the proclamation, Worship Coordinator Sis. Evangelina Lapid and the Vice President of the Confraternity of OLSH, Bro. Jose Enver Campo, approached in procession, reverently carrying the crowns. The image of the Child Jesus was then crowned by MHRP Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Allan Rubett A. Cabatian, OAR, assisted by MHRP Parish Pastoral Council Overall Lay Coordinator Ms. Malou Hernandez.
In the most awaited part of the celebration, the Bishop solemnly crowned the image of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, accompanied by Sis. Evangelina. As highlighted in the liturgical catechesis, the crown signifies Mary's unique interior communion with her Son, demonstrating that the Heart once pierced in sacrifice now reigns in glory.
To conclude the celebration, the prelate, alongside representatives from the clergy, religious, and laity, led a unified Act of Consecration to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Together, the community formally entrusted their families, ministries, and the entire city to Mary's keeping, seeking to shape their lives according to the redemptive love of the Sacred Heart.
