BAR REGION'S TOP 3 MOST WANTED PERSON ARRESTED BY CIDG

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in its intensified anti-criminality operations resulted in the arrest of the Top 3 Regional Most Wanted of The Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) on February 28, 2024 (Wednesday) at about 6:00 PM in Brgy. Bagua 1, Cotabato City.

Agents of CIDG Cotabato and Maguindanao PFU together with other PNP local units, enforced police operations in relation to the CIDG flagship project known as OPLAN “Pagtugis” and OPLAN “Paglalansag Omega” ensuing the arrest of 31-year-old alias “Orlan Lindungan Ayunan” for the crime of Murder with no recommended bail and Frustrated Murder with bail of Php 200,000.00 under the Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Annabelle D.P. Piang, Presiding Judge of RTC of 12 Judicial Region, Branch 13, Cotabato City June 22, 2022.

The said Regional MW accused was likewise
tagged as No. 7 City/ Municipal MWP of Cotabato City Police Office (CCPO).

During the arrest, “Orlan” was found to be in possession and control of the following pieces of evidence:
-One (1) unit of M1911A1 Cal .45 pistol US Army with serial number 908779 United States Property;
-One (1) piece magazine assembly for cal. 45; and
-Eight (8) pieces of live ammunition for cal. 45.

Rosary Heights, Cotabato City," PMGen Romeo M Caramat Jr., CIDG Director stated.

The arrested person and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Cotabato CFU Office for documentation and proper disposition prior to the return of the warrant of arrest to the court of origin.
The accused was charged with violation of RA 10591.

“In steadfast support to the CPNP PGen Benjamin C Acorda Jr’s anti-criminality programs, our committed CIDG personnel won't stop until all criminals are apprehended and held accountable for their wrongdoings. In line with the commitment of the CIDG to deliver the best police service to the public, the Group initiated more focused police operations which served as the Group’s Priority Thrusts in achieving its mission. These Priority Thrusts consisting of Oplan Salikop, Oplan Paglalansag Omega, and Oplan Pagtugis, provide the direction on the utilization of its resources to the optimum level, responsive to the present peace and order situation of the country. Other anti-criminality campaigns such as Oplan Bolilyo, Oplan Sagip Anghel, Oplan Megashopper, and other law enforcement activities are likewise given equal importance in the attainment of the goal of the PNP for a safe and economically sound community.
This number presents the operational accomplishments of the CIDG for February 19 to 25, 2024 consistent with the Program Thrusts of the PNP and in accordance with its mandate.

CIDG ARRESTED WANTED REBELS OF PULANG BAGANI COMMAND

Agents of CIDG Davao City along with the PNP local units, through its campaign against wanted persons otherwise known as OPLAN “Pagtugis”, apprehended three (3) former rebels during the service of Warrant of Arrest on February 24 - 25, 2024 in Brgy. Malabog Paquibato District, Davao City.

The said warrant issued by Hon. Melinda Alconcel-Dayanghirang, Presiding Judge of 11th Judicial Region, RTC, Branch 54, Davao City on June 30, 2023 were served against 52-year-old alias “Rosalina”, 39-year-old alias “Roldan” and 27-year-old alias “Jayson” for the crime of Frustrated Murder with Php200,000.00 bail recommended.

Accordingly, arrested accused who are now under the temporary custody of Paquibato Police Station were all former member of Communist Terrorist Group under Pulang Bagani Command (PBC) 1, Southern Mindanao Regional Party Committee (SMRC).

“This operation underscores CIDG's crucial role in delivering justice to the victims and hunting down wanted insurgents who seek to terrorize our community, contributing to upholding law and order in support to the CPNP, PGen Benjamin C Acorda Jr. aggresive law enforcement operations through its counter-terrorism thrust, the TF Sanglahi Bravo," said CIDG Director, PMGen Romeo M Caramat Jr. # # #

REGION 8 MOST WANTED ARRESTED BY CIDG

Armed with Warrants of Arrest (WOAs), agents of the CIDG apprehended two (2) Regional Most Wanted Person of PRO 8 in separate manhunt operations on February 22, 2024 in the province of Leyte.

The first WOA was served by the elements of CIDG Eastern Samar at about 9:00 AM in Brgy. Salog, Leyte against 17-year-old wanted for the crime of R**e by Sexual Assault issued by Hon. Renato Noel Capones Echague, Presiding Judge of RTC, Branch 4, Dolores, Eastern Samar dated January 11, 2024 with recommended bail bond fixed at Php 200,000.00.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old alias “Redgie" was arrested by the CIDG Northern Leyte along with Leyte Norte PHPT and OCPO-PS5 at about 10:30 PM in Brgy. Dolores, Ormoc City, Leyte for the crime of R**e, issued by Hon. Maria Corazon S. Vergara-Naraja, Presiding Judge, RTC, Branch 47, Ormoc City, Leyte dated February 19, 2024, with NO bail recommended.

The said wanted persons are now under the custody of the arresting CIDG units prior their turn-over to their respective courts of origin.

“The CIDG, in support to the anti-criminality programs of the CPNP, PGen Benjamin C Acorda Jr, assures the public that it will continue its intensified police operations against lawless elements in order for every household and community to feel the presence of the PNP and make them safe and secure against criminals,” says CIDG Director, PMGen Romeo M Caramat Jr. # # #

CIDG NETS MOST WANTED TERRORIST

The country’s Most Wanted Person and tagged as Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the United States Defense, fell behind bars during the service of five arrest warrants earlier, February 15, 2024 at about 5:50 AM in Brgy Pasil, Indanan, Sulu, following the directive of the CPNP, PGEN BENJAMIN C ACORDA JR Jr for an intensified counter-terrorism operation thru the PNP Task Force Sanglahi Bravo.

Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group along with PNP Intelligence Group, PRO BAR, SAF, Maritime Group, Philippine Army, NICA, AMLC, and PAOCC arrested 32-year-old MYRNA AJILUL MABANZA a.k.a. “Myrna Adijul Mabanza,” “Myrna Adijul Anas,” “Dang,” “Nay,” “Khawla,” “Hafsa,” and “Myrna” who is wanted for violations of RA 10168 or the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012 and RA 11479 or the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 under criminal case numbers 53502, 53503, 53504, 53506, and 53507 issued by Hon. Shaldilyn Bara Bangsaja, Presiding Judge of RTC 9th Judicial Region, Branch 33, Zamboanga City on December 20, 2023, all with no bail recommended.

PMGen Romeo M Caramat Jr, Director of the CIDG and Commander of the said Task Force (TF), stated that MABANZA was a former resident and school teacher in Zamboanga City. She is the niece of the late Abdullah Ajilul a.k.a. “Abu Termiji” and Amilhamja Ajilul, both were Abu Sayyaf Group sub-leaders involved in a series of bombings, kidnappings, and shooting incidents in Basilan and Zamboanga City.

"MABANZA is the widow of Mohammad Najib bin Hussin a.k.a. Abu Anas, a Malaysian terrorist member of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) who introduced ISIL in Southern Philippines. “Bounded by intra-marriage, she was influenced by ISIL Ideology for propaganda, recruitment, and financial facilitation to ISIL-influenced groups in the country, particularly the Daulah Islamiyah (DI) and Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG),” added TF Commander.

With MABANZA’s activities and association with ISIL or Al-Qaida, she was declared by the U.S. Defense as Specially Designated Global Terrorist along with ISIL founder ABU BAKR AL BAGHDADI, and DI-ASG and Emir of IS-Philippines ISNILON HAPILON. Mabanza was also declared as Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Person by the U.S. Department of Treasury.

Authorities added that MABANZA facilitated the travel, accompanied, and assisted the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) representatives from Indonesia to the Philippines in purchasing high-powered fi****ms in 2016.

MABANZA’s cohort and associate, Norkisa Omar Ibno was arrested earlier on December 24, 2023 in her residence in Isabela City, Basilan by joint operatives of CIDG, IG, MG, and PRO9 for the same violations and is currently at the Zamboanga City BJMP.

The accused will be transported from Sulu to Zamboanga City where she will be temporarily detained at the CIDG Zamboanga City Filed Unit Custodial Facility.
