𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐍𝐀𝐍: LTFRB Law Enforcement Unit, sumailalim sa transport enforcement seminar

Pinalakas ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board - LTFRB Law Enforcement Unit ang kakayahan ng mga tauhan nito sa pagpapatupad ng batas sa sektor ng pampublikong transportasyon sa pamamagitan ng transport enforcement seminar na pinamagatang “Orientation on Strengthening Transport Enforcement Operations: Apprehension, De-escalation, Intelligence, and Crowd Management.”

Alinsunod sa adhikain ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at sa pamumuno ni Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez, patuloy na isinusulong ng ahensya ang pagpapahusay ng enforcement capabilities para sa mas ligtas at maayos na pampublikong transportasyon. Sa patnubay ni LTFRB Acting Chairman Atty. Greg G. Pua Jr., pinangunahan ang aktibidad ni Board Member Engr. Isagani M. Victorio, kasama si Franchise Planning and Monitoring Division Chief Atty. Sherwin D. Vizconde.

Sa kanyang mensahe, binigyang-diin ni Board Member Victorio na ang tungkulin ng mga enforcement personnel ay hindi lamang sa pag-apprehend ng mga lumalabag sa batas, kundi maging sa pagbuo ng tiwala ng riding public at pagpapanatili ng kaligtasan sa pampublikong transportasyon.

Tinalakay sa seminar ang Tactical Apprehension, Rules of Engagement, Intelligence and Surveillance, at Crowd Management, na naglalayong ihanda ang mga tauhan sa iba’t ibang sitwasyong maaaring kaharapin sa field operations.

Nagbahagi rin ng kanilang expertise bilang resource speakers ang mga kinatawan ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) na sina LCDR. Mark Jefferson C. Mangoyob, ENS. Junbart R. Lolo, at SN2. Jay D. Villanueva.

Sa pamamagitan ng patuloy na pagsasanay, layunin ng LTFRB Law Enforcement Unit na mapalakas ang disiplina, koordinasyon, at propesyonalismo ng mga tauhan upang higit na mapabuti ang pagpapatupad ng mga regulasyon at ang serbisyo sa publiko.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐆 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒 𝐋𝐏𝐓𝐑𝐏 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄

Today, 2 September 2026, Pasig City has taken a major step towards a more organized and commuter-responsive public transportation system after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board – National Capital Region (LTFRB-NCR) formally awarded the City its Notice of Compliance (NOC) for its Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP).

This milestone was marked by an awarding ceremony led by Pasig City Mayor Victor “Vico” Ma. Regis N. Sotto and LTFRB-NCR Regional Director Atty. Zona Russet M. Tamayo.

Pasig City is the second among the local government units in Metro Manila to complete and submit its LPTRP, following a rigorous planning process and sustained coordination with LTFRB-NCR. The City's LPTRP was evaluated and declared approved and compliant with the guidelines and parameters prescribed under Department Order No. 2023-022, together with other relevant issuances and policies of the LTFRB.

The event was also attended by DOTr Director Atty. Emerson D. Palad, and Atty. Sherwin D. Vizconde, Chief of the Franchise Planning and Monitoring Division.

Also present to receive the recognition on behalf of the City Government were Congressman Roman T. Romulo, Vice Mayor Robert Vincent Jude “Dodot” B. Jaworski, Jr., and Councilor Mark Gil “Volta” M. Delos Santos, Chairperson of the Committee on Transportation.

The strong representation of Pasig City's leadership during the ceremony highlighted the City Government's full commitment to the LPTRP, recognizing public transport planning as a critical component of building a livable, accessible, and progressive city, as well as its support to DOTr and LTFRB's Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP).

The initiative forms part of the national government's continuing efforts to elevate the level of service of the public transportation sector and is aligned with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., under the guidance of Department of Transportation Secretary Atty. Giovanni Z. Lopez, and the leadership of LTFRB Acting Board Chairman Atty. Greg G. Pua, Jr.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board - LTFRB public transport operators to constantly remind their drivers to be more patient and exercise discipline to avoid any legal trouble that could compromise their authority to operate a public utility vehicle (PUV).

This, after the LTFRB issued a show cause order against the operator of a passenger jeepney in a viral road rage incident with another motor vehicle driver as part of the investigation to ensure road safety and discipline as ordered by DOTr Secretary Giovanni “Banoy” Z. Lopez.

Acting LTFRB Chairman Atty. Greg G. Pua, Jr. said the summon was already issued to Gardenia Kapit-Bisig Multi-Purpose and Transport Service Cooperative based on the video posted on social media.

“We said it before and we will say it again: Road rage brings no good to any motorist. It does not only create legal trouble, it also compromises the safety of the drivers involved and other road users,” said Acting Chairman Pua.

In the video, a private vehicle motorist was seen engaged in a road rage incident with fellow motorists, including a jeepney driver in a busy road in Marikina City.

As a result, the traffic flow was affected and the passengers of the jeepney were stranded in the middle road.

Acting Chairman Pua said the incident clearly violates the provision in the Certificate of Public Convenience on providing safe, reliable, and convenient public land transportation service.

The jeepney operator was also asked to submit a notarized written explanation for employing reckless PUV driver on or before the scheduled hearing on September 10.

What is at stake in the investigation, according to acting Chairman Pua, is the CPC for the passenger jeepney involved.

“This should be another reminder for everybody to keep their heads cool. Let us be respectful and observe road courtesy, hindi po tayo magkakamali dun,” he said. #

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board – National Capital Region (LTFRB-NCR), through Regional Director Atty. Zona Russet M. Tamayo, initiated a meeting with the City Government of Taguig to discuss the status and updates on the crafting of the City’s Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP).

The meeting was attended by representatives from the City Administrator’s Office and the heads and representatives of various offices tasked with and involved in the formulation of the LPTRP.

During the meeting, the LGU provided updates on the ongoing preparatory activities for the formulation of its LPTRP. The discussions focused on the institutional arrangements, data requirements, and other necessary groundwork to facilitate the development of a comprehensive and responsive local public transport plan.

LTFRB-NCR emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with the local government in compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, through the guidance of DOTr Secretary Atty. Giovanni Lopez, and leadership of Acting Board Chairman Atty. Greg G. Pua, Jr., to ensure that the LPTRP is grounded on reliable data and responsive to the mobility needs of Taguig City.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board - LTFRB, under the guidance of DOTr Secretary Giovanni “Banoy” Z. Lopez, has sent a strong message about road safety and discipline following the issuance of a show cause order (SCO) against the operator of a passenger bus in a viral counterflow video.

Acting LTFRB Chairman Atty. Greg G. Pua, Jr. said the SCO was already sent to the Victory Liner which was mandated to explain in writing why its Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) should not be suspended or cancelled over the dangerous driving behavior of one of its drivers.

“Roads are not the place of bullying of big motor vehicles to smaller ones, we will not allow that and those who would dare do that in the public transportation sector will suffer consequences,” said Acting Chairman Pua.

In the viral video which happened along the national highway in the province, the passenger bus was seen forcing its way to the opposite side of the road while overtaking vehicles.

What made it dangerous is that the overtaking and counterflowing happened on the blind or curved side of the road, which forced a rider to pull over alongside the road.

Fortunately, the incident was captured on the video which served as the basis for the SCO issuance when the LTFRB monitored it on social media.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), under the guidance of DOTr Secretary Giovanni “Banoy” Z. Lopez, has sent a strong message about road safety and discipline following the issuance of a show cause order (SCO) against the operator of a passenger bus in a viral counterflow video.

Acting LTFRB Chairman Atty. Greg G. Pua, Jr. said the SCO was already sent to the Victory Liner which was mandated to explain in writing why its Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) should not be suspended or cancelled over the dangerous driving behavior of one of its drivers.

“Roads are not the place of bullying of big motor vehicles to smaller ones, we will not allow that and those who would dare do that in the public transportation sector will suffer consequences,” said Acting Chairman Pua.

In the viral video which happened along the national highway in the province, the passenger bus was seen forcing its way to the opposite side of the road while overtaking vehicles.

What made it dangerous is that the overtaking and counterflowing happened on the blind or curved side of the road, which forced a rider to pull over alongside the road.

Fortunately, the incident was captured on the video which served as the basis for the SCO issuance when the LTFRB monitored it on social media.

Pua Jr. sa paglulunsad ng National Federation of Transport Cooperatives (NFTC) Fuel Loyalty Discount Program, binigyang-diin niya ang kahalagahan ng programa bilang karagdagang suporta sa mga driver at operator sa gitna ng patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng langis.

Sa ilalim nito, makatatanggap ang mga miyembro ng NFTC ng ₱2.00 discount kada litro sa bawat pagpapakarga, bukod pa sa P12/L Fuel Discount na ipinagkakaloob ng pamahalaan. Ang mga maiipong puntos naman ay maaaring gamitin sa susunod na pagpapakarga o i-convert sa cash para sa iba pang pangangailangan.
