VOLUNTARY TAWAF

Voluntary Tawaf (Tawaf an-Nafl) is a highly meritorious act of worship, especially while you are in Makkah. It is not connected to ‘Umrah, but it is still an independent act of devotion to Allah.

Among the reported rewards are:

* Completing seven circuits of Tawaf and then praying two rak‘ahs carries a reward likened to freeing a slave. This narration from Ibn ‘Umar has been graded hasan by hadith scholars.
* Another narration mentions that during Tawaf, Allah records good deeds, removes sins, and raises the worshipper in rank with their steps.
* Voluntary Tawaf itself is considered a noble act of worship, and scholars encourage those staying in Makkah to take advantage of the unique opportunity to perform it.

Most importantly, the full reward is with Allah and depends upon sincerity, following the Sunnah, humility, and Allah’s acceptance.

اللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّي طَوَافِي وَصَلَاتِي وَدُعَائِي، وَاغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي

Allahumma taqabbal minni tawafi wa salati wa du‘a’i, waghfir li warhamni.

“O Allah, accept my Tawaf, my prayer, and my supplication. Guide us to the right path and protect us from misguidance and committing sins. Forgive our parents, my families, my relatives, my office mates, and have mercy upon us all the Ummah of the prophet Muhammad”

Ameen.
