This is a free event in partnership with Joy of Urban Farming, open to Philam residents, kasambahay, neighboring barangays, and those interested in learning more. Barangay Philam Community Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

Pursuant to the directive of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), Barangay Philam will conduct a Simultaneous Earthquake Drill as part of our continuing efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure the safety of our community.

*FOLLOW THE STEPS & PROCEDURES INDICATED IN THE POSTER ON HOW TO CONDUCT THE DRILL. YOU MAY ALSO REFER TO THE VIDEO SIMULATION BELOW.

All residents, establishments, and institutions within the barangay are encouraged to actively participate in this important activity. The drill aims to familiarize everyone with proper earthquake response procedures such as “Duck, Cover, and Hold on.”

Let us all work together to promote earthquake awareness and preparedness.

March 12 Thursday- PHILAM SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL PER PUROK ( TIME INDICATED IN THE POSTER )

SIMULATION STEPS FOR THE DRILL

STEP 1: SOUND ALARM

A crank siren will signal the start of the Drill.
If you’re at home or in an establishment,
immediately perform Drop, Cover, and Hold On.

STEP 2: DROP, COVER and HOLD ON

DROP immediately to your hands and knees to avoid being thrown down.

COVER your head and neck and stay under a sturdy desk/table or next to an interior wall away from windows.

HOLD ON to the shelter with one hand. Stay in position until the shaking completely stops.

STEP 3: EVACUATE OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE/ESTABLISHMENT

The crank siren will sound off signaling that the shaking has completely stopped. Stay calm and do not run while exiting. Stay in a safe and open space outside your house/establishment.

We respectfully ask for the cooperation and active participation of our residents in the upcoming earthquake preparedness activities to help ensure everyone’s safety in the event of an earthquake.
