STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATION ON THE CONVENTION AGAINST TORTURE
The Commission on Human Rights–National Capital Region (CHR-NCR) participated in the Stakeholder Consultation on the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman, or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (UNCAT) held on August 5, 2026, at CHR Conference Room A, Jose Luis Martin C. Gascon Building.
The program featured the Welcome Remarks of Commissioner Atty. Faydah Maniri Dumarpa, while Atty. Khristian Jeff C. Episcope, CHR-NCR Regional Director, delivered a presentation on the Local Situationer on Torture and Other CIDTP Cases. Mr. Vincent Leo Gamboa, Chief of the Promotion and Advocacy Division, served as the emcee and facilitator of the program.
The consultation provided a meaningful space for dialogue, reflection, and strengthened cooperation in the continuing effort to prevent torture and uphold the dignity and rights of every person.
The activity concluded with closing remarks delivered by Atty. Episcope, reaffirming that the fight against torture is a shared responsibility. Through collective action and sustained commitment, we can help build a community where dignity is respected, rights are protected, and no one is left unheard.
