Kinikilala ng Teacher Education Council (TEC) ang mga resulta ng Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2025 na naglalaman ng mahahalagang datos ukol sa kasalukuyang kalagayan at karanasan ng mga Pilipinong mag-aaral. Ipinaaalala ng ulat na ito na ang dekalidad na edukasyon ay hindi lamang nakasalalay sa mga araling ibinabahagi sa loob ng silid-aralan, kundi itoโ€™y hinuhubog din ng pagtutulungan ng ibaโ€™t ibang sektor ng lipunan.

Naniniwala ang TEC na ang tagumpay sa edukasyon ay isang pagbabayanihan. Ang ating progreso sa ay hindi lamang bunga ng pagsisikap ng iisang sektor, kundi ng magkasamang kontribusyon ng ating mga g**o, pinuno ng paaralan, magulang, at mismong mga mag-aaral.

Kasabay nito, batid ng TEC ang mga kritikal na hamong dapat pang tugunan. Kaugnay nito, patuloy na palalakasin ng ahensya ang mga hakbang tungo sa sama-samang pagkilos at suporta para sa ating mga g**o upang makabuo ng isang matatag, patas, at makabuluhang edukasyon para sa bawat Pilipinong mag-aaral.

Led by DepEd Cagayan de Oro, the National Teachersโ€™ Month (NTM) 2026 officially kicked off with a launch on September 5, 2026, bringing together education leaders, teachers, students, and stakeholders.

With this yearโ€™s theme, โ€œTeacher, Ikaw Naman!โ€, the celebration puts teachers at the heart of the conversationโ€”recognizing their dedication, honoring their contributions, and highlighting the importance of their continued growth and development.

As a partner in cultivating the teaching profession, the Teacher Education Council (TEC) joined the event and launched its own activities for the monthโ€”the Legacy of the Chalkboard Exhibit, the : Teacher Education Roadmap 2035 Caravan, and Celebrating Teachers' Excellenceโ€”recognizing Filipino teachers and underscoring the importance of quality teacher education, professional development, and career growth.

This National Teachersโ€™ Month, TEC stands with the teachers who create every lesson, nurture every learner, and help build the future of Philippine education.

For generations, the scratch of chalk against a wooden board was a familiar sound that marked everyday classroom life. On these simple surfaces, teachers wrote lessons, solved equations, and introduced new ideas.

But more than just a tool for teaching, the humble chalkboard represents the tireless dedication of generations of teachers and the learners whose lives they have changed.

To honor the legacy and celebrate the continuing development of the teaching profession, the Teacher Education Council (TEC) mounted the โ€œLegacy of the Chalkboard: A TEC Commemorative Exhibitโ€ at the National Library of the Philippines.

As the agency mandated to strengthen teacher education and promote quality teacher preparation in the Philippines, TEC recognizes the importance of preserving the history of the teaching profession and honoring the generations of Filipino teachers whose contributions continue to transform Philippine education.
