JUST IN | The Philippines is voted as the World’s Leading Country Tourism Destination at the Uzakrota Global Travel Awards 2022 by Turkish travel organization Uzakrota, besting all the other nominated countries with 721 votes. Guevarra said in a statement that his office, which represents the Philippines in the proceedings, submitted its "observation" on Sept. 8 through the Philippine Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands, in response to the ICC OTP's request to resume its investigation into the country.

The Philippines requested that the ICC's pre-trial chamber (PTC) deny the OTP's request to resume its investigation into alleged crimes against humanity committed during the "war on drugs" between July 2016 and March 2019, including in the Davao Region between November 2011 and June 2016.

"The ICC has no jurisdiction over the situation in the Philippines. The alleged murder incidents that happened during the relevant period do not constitute "crimes against humanity," considering that said incidents do not qualify as an "attack" against the civilian population. Furthermore, the said occurrences were not in furtherance of a state or organizational policy to commit such attack," Guevarra said in the statement.

63 million pesos, naproseso na ng OVP para sa medical at burial assistance

Sa ika-pitong linggo ng kanyang pagiging Bise Presidente, nakapag proseso na ang tanggapan ni Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio ng ₱63 million na medical at burial assistance.

Sa regular Press Briefing, sinabi ni Atty. Reynolds Munsayac, tagapagsalita ni VP Sara, umabot na sa 4,995 ang nakatanggap na ng tulong sa kanilang mga satellite offices.

Karamihan daw sa mga humihingi ng tulong sa kanila ay may kinalaman sa pagpapa-ospital kung saan pambili ng gamot at bayad sa pagamutan.

Patuloy daw ang pgdagsa ng mga humihingi ng tulong sa kanilang mga tanggapan at agad naman pinoproseso ang mga ito.

NEWS UPDATE: Sen. Raffy Tulfo asks the Office of the Press Secretary to practice issuing notices written in both English and Filipino.

During the organizational meeting of the Committee on Public Information and Mass Media on Monday, Aug. 15, Tulfo noted that it would be better if notices posted in government offices were written in English and Filipino because not everyone can fully understand English.

“Maybe I can make a request to make it a practice of posting notices in English and Filipino,” he said.
