YES TO LIFE. 🌿
This World Environment Day, the Palawan Biodiversity Conservation Advocates Inc. stands firm: Our forests, our reefs, and our watersheds are the lifeblood of this island, and they are under direct threat from destructive mining operations.
Water is life. Palawan’s critical watersheds capture rain, prevent devastating landslides, and provide clean drinking water to hundreds of thousands of Palaweños and indigenous communities. When mining cuts into our mountains, it bleeds into our rivers, poisons our agricultural lands, and destroys the vibrant coral reefs below.
We cannot drink nickel. We cannot eat coal. Protect the Last Frontier:
* Demand stricter enforcement of the Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) law.
* Oppose large-scale mining concessions in protected areas and ancestral domains.
* Amplify the voices of indigenous peoples defending their lands.
* Educate your community on the irreversible damage of extractive industries.
Palawan's biodiversity is a global heritage. Once a watershed is destroyed, it is gone forever. Let us draw the line here.
Join the fight. Protect our watersheds. Keep Palawan mining-free!
