Ang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2025 ngayong Agosto ay may temang ”Paglinang sa Filipino at Katutubong Wika: Makasaysayan sa Pagkakaisa ng Bansa.”

Sa dami ng mga nauusong mga banyagang salita ngayon, nararapat lamang na mas kilalanin natin ang yaman ng ating mga katutubong wika at ituro sa mga bata ang paggamit at pagmamahal sa mga ito.

Sa simpleng pagsasalita, pagbabasa, o pagkukuwento sa wikang atin, naipapasa natin ang kultura at kasaysayan sa mga bata kahit sa makabagong panahon.

Human trafficking is not only a crime; it is a grave violation of human rights. It breaks families, strips individuals of their dignity, and shatters lives—trapping countless people in prolonged cycles of violence and exploitation.

It is a system of abuse and exploitation, with women and children as its primary targets. They are subjected to the most horrific forms of violence, robbed of their safety, freedom, and humanity.

This cycle of exploitation is rooted in deeply embedded gender hierarchies and fuels a shadow pandemic of gender-based violence and discrimination.

Today, as we mark the World Day Against Trafficking, the Philippine Commission on Women stands firm in its commitment to uphold the rights and dignity of all—especially women and girls. As part of the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT), PCW remains steadfast in its efforts to end human trafficking by advancing clear, purposeful policies that are rights-based, gender-responsive, and age-sensitive.

Together, let us work to end human trafficking now.
