A Historic First for Agusan del Sur

In 2024, history was made.

For the first time in the history of Agusan del Sur, the Province earned the prestigious 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), a milestone recognizing its commitment to transparency, integrity, accountability, and quality public service.

This achievement belongs not only to the Provincial Government, but to the many officials, employees, partners, communities, and public servants whose collective efforts helped Agusan del Sur reach this historic standard.

But receiving the 2024 SGLG should not be the finish line. Because our first Seal carries an even greater challenge: to sustain what worked, improve what can be better, and make good governance felt in the lives of ordinary Agsurnons.

2024 was the year history was made. A standard was set. Now, we move forward.

As PPMEC Chair, you helped lead the way,

Not projects completed, nor reports alone,

With evidence guiding what government should do,
You strengthened accountability, transparent and true.

Retirement may end an official role,
But never the service engraved in the soul.
For titles will change and years will depart,
But a leader’s true legacy lives in every heart.
