The Local Government of President Roxas continues to support ending Violence Against Women. As part of the celebration of the 18-day campaign to end Violence Against Women, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, together with PNP-WCPD, conducted a symposium at President Roxas National High School to raise awareness among youth about laws against abuse and distributed IEC materials.

Also,during the employee's flag-raising ceremony at the Municipal Hall of President Roxas, the PNP-WCPD and MSWDO personnel conduct information dissimination with regards on R.A. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act. Male employees participated by signing a pledge of commitment to help end Violence Against Women and pledge to advocate for change.

On November 28, 2025 at the Basket, Capitol Compound, Amas, Kidapawan City held the National Children's Month Celebration with a theme: "OSAEC-CSAEM WAKASAN, Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng bata, Ipaglaban".

On the State of the Children's Address of the Provincial Governor, Hon. Emmylou "lala" J. Talino-Mendoza, she emphasized that Children is the center of the province's development. In her report, she also outlined the current condition of the children in the province including the programs and services rendered by the government intended for them.

She said: "Each effort carries a unifying purpose to ensure that every Batang Cotabateño is safe, healthy and full of hope."

She also awarded the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) who had achieved the 'Ideal Level of Functionality' including the Municipality of President Roxas.

Children from the Municipality of President Roxas had also participated in various activities and was awarded as First place on Essay Writing Contest.

The 33rd National Children’s Month Celebration was successfully conducted last Thursday, November 13, 2025, in the Municipality of President Roxas, led by the Local Government through the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC).

Under the leadership of the Municipal Mayor Hon. Jaime H. Mahimpit, the “State of the Children’s Address” was conducted, focusing on the four fundamental rights of children such as: survival, developmental, protection, and participation- pillars strengthened by good governance towards the continued promotion of the rights, safety, and welfare of every Roxasnon child.

In his message, Mayor Mahimpit emphasized the significance of this year’s celebration theme, “OSAEC-CSAEM WAKASAN: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng bata, Ipaglaban” as a call for collective action among parents, teachers, and the government to protect children against abuse and online exploitation. Mayor Mahimpit also expressed his appreciation for the active participation of the youth in government programs and the continued care for them as a vital part of the community.

Vice Mayor Jonathan O. Mahimpit also attended the celebration, expressing support for the local government’s youth programs and urging parents and teachers to be partners in shaping good citizens.

The celebration was vibrant and meaningful with various activities for the youth such as; Quiz bee, titok dance competition (palarong pambansa), poster making and essay writing contest.

November 5,2025 The Local Government Unit of President Roxas headed by the Municipal Mayor, Hon.Jaime H. Mahimpit and the Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Jonathan O. Mahimpit together with the MSWD Officer, Ms. Melanie S. Paghunasan, RSW, MPA turned over a seven (7) unit of Flatscreen TV ( Devant) to Child Development Workers together with the Barangay Chairperson during the convocation program.
NCDC Poblacion (1 unit ), Poblacion CDC (1 unit ), Labuo CDC (1 unit ), Camasi CDC (1 unit), Cabangbangan CDC (1 unit), F. Cajelo CDC (1 unit) and Bato-bato CDC (1 unit).

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, Melanie S. Paghunasan, RSW, MPA conducted a lecture on RA11930
also known as Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of children (OSAEC) law, RA9775 Anti- Child Po*******hy Act, which covers CSAEM and RA9208 or Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act at Barangay Ilustre, President Roxas, Cotabato last October 2, 2025. This was participated by 4P's beneficiaries of the said barangay.

The Personnel from Regional Office XII together with the MSWD officer, Ms. Melanie S. Paghunasan, RSW, MPA had a courtesy call to the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Jaime H.Mahimpit for the conduct of Pre-assessment for LSWDO Functionality.
The honorable Mayor expressed his support to all the programs and services of the office.
The MSWD officer and staffs are also grateful to undergo the said pre-assessment in order to enhance and finalize the necessary documents and adequately prepare for the final assessment scheduled for the year 2026."
